Great selection of CDs and vinyl. Very knowledgeable staff. Some very famous stars have performed here. Highly recommended for anyone with an interest in music.

Enjoyed shopping here- they had a great selection of more obscure movie titles that I found great- as well as newer blue ray disc exclusives. Some of the music seemed a bit pricey, but they had some great sales as well. I could spend a few hours here browsing.

Love to find a record store in each city I visit, so we were looking forward to visiting Waterloo Records. I particularly love vinyl, so I was a little disappointed when I walked in the door and saw CDs occupying most of the store. But once I started working my way through the used vinyl stacks, I really appreciated the... More

If you want to get a local band's CD come to Waterloo. If you want a major label signed band's CD or a more obscure independent or foreign band's CD come to Waterloo. Or if you just want to experience some Austin culture come to Waterloo. Heck, you could even get an afternoon of Austin culture if you hit Whole... More

As a long time collector of music it was like a dream finally getting to go to Waterloo in Austin. When I first walked in I was overwhelmed at the selection of super music, hard to find items and local music. This is the place every music lover must visit once in their lifetime!!! Plan on spending a few hours... More

There are other record stores in the Austin area, but their selection of new records aren't as extensive as they are at Waterloo. Other stores mix it with more used items. While Waterloo may not be the best for used records, their selection of new records more than makes up for it. Not only that, but they have a large... More

We saw Anthony Green and then saw him at his conconcert later that day. then head over to the "counter cafe". it's on the same side of the street and it's just a couple of yards... More

This is what a real record store is supposed to be. They have a great selection of vinyl and CDs and movies and everything else music related. I am an avid music fan, but they had things in there I hadn't seen before. I could spend all day just browsing the place. Whenever I'm in Austin, I always stop by... More

Forget Itunes, well at least while you're in Austin, this place is awesome. Brings you back to old school days when you actually had to go to the store to buy music. Tons of cds, records, videos, & all sorts of music stuff. We spent about 2 hours here just going through the shelves. Bought some really cool retro stuff... More

Fab selection, new and used, cd and vinyl, helpful lists of Texas musicians, latest releases, employee recommendations, and the place to pick up your KGSR Broadcast CD. Then there are the live music jams, the knowledgeable employees... it is a music-lovers haven. It has the Austin vibe to the nth degree--and that is most certainly a good thing.
