Established in 1975 by the late Clifford Antone, Antone's is an iconic blues and R&B venue located in downtown Austin. Over the past 40 years, Antone's has brought Austin a variety of blues and R&B musicians from across the country including greats like B.B. King, Muddy Waters, Jimmy Reed, and Buddy Guy, as well as help develop local talent including Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimmie Vaughn, Bob Schneider, Gary Clark Jr. and countless others. In 2015, the historic brand was restored and a new team brought the iconic venue back to the downtown Austin landscape with a renewed focus on once again making Antone's the "Home of the Blues."

We visited the newly opened Antone's steeped in the history of jazz. It was a wonderful experience! We stayed late into the night. The $5 cover charge, in keeping with tradition, made us smile all evening. The full bar offerings satisfied us beyond anything we had hoped for and made it even more special. On the scale of 1 -... This is a review for the new Antone's location directly across from the Westin hotel. 305 E. 5th Street. Having never been here before, we ended up almost walking by it until we noticed a large neon sign inside the venue. There is a nice gift shop with tshirts to purchase as you walk in and a shoeshine area. We... More

My wife and I watched a Stoney LaRue concert pre-empted by Whiskey Meyers and it was awesome. Great location in Austin and great scene. Look forward to it again.

I used to love Antone's and wish it was still open for business, bit it is not. The venue was closed and a sports bar has taken over the space. If there was a classification for no rating, I would have used it. Clifford Antone was a prime mover on the Austin music scene until his untimely death some years... More

Went there because of it's association with where Stevie Ray Vaughan got his start. People at the front were friendly. There was a "School of Rock" concert celebrating the end of the "School of Rock" kids camp. We got to watch for free some really cool kids playing their hearts out on stage in front of an appreciative crowd. It... More

We had to visit the legendary Antone's while we were in Austin, we went on one of the open stage nights and saw some great local acts. We are from Australia and we love our blues so this place is pretty special for us and it didn't disappoint us. A great night, thanks, long live the blues.

We visited this venue whilst on holiday from the UK, and were treated to an open mic night. What an ace place to visit... Honestly, you must go sit and soak it all in. I totally recommend it, its not just a 'bluesy' venue we did listen to some rock but on the whole I think maybe it is a... More

Antone's has been Austin's home to the blues for over 35 years and has been located in several locations in the city with a recent move to what may be its nicest facility yet out on East Riverside, a short drive or bus trip from Downtown Austin. The new location offers ample parking, a multi level floor plan with a... More

This place is legendary for the names that have stood upon it's stage, yet they still continue to run an open stage blues night where astounding local talent come along to play. Heck the night we went there was a 13yr old shaking the house down and we just enjoyed the whole atmosphere and music no end.
