We chose this theater because it is very conveniently located right in downtown Austin. There is a parking garage that is right behind the theater so that you don't have to search around for street parking. The seats are comfortable and you can order food and drinks while you watch the movie. During the movie, you just fill out little... More

Nice theater, small audience, brews and food...what the big theater wish they were...this is the way to see a movie!

Contemporary style. Seats were comfy but not great views for the size of the theater. On 2nd floor and stairs could use a steam cleaning. Employees were not overly friendly.

Good drinks from the bar and great seats......great location, too, in the center of boutique shopping. Love that it is a small theater and every seat has a great view.

The last time I was in Austin, I went to a movie at the Alamo Drafthouse and had a great time, I really think that this place is right on par if not better. I like how it is up on the 2nd floor and has a balcony. You can get drinks from the bar and take them back to... More

This place became our favorite theater after our very first visit. Easy parking, good bar and food, great seats, and wonderful location. We like the design of the theater too - not a huge dark cave lined with cheesy posters and video games. They also have really nice selections of movies - some independent, some artsy, some popular. Plan ahead... More

Stopped in for a cheeky movie before heading to the airport. It's a small theatre with mostly artsy flicks. It was a pleasant experience, even with the $5 bottle of water.

The Violet Crown, which I believe takes its name from the violet hue of the Austin evening sky offers a cinematic experience like no other. Situated in the heart of downtown it has ample free parking available in the adjacent multi-storey car park. Apart from an excellent curated selection of films, the cinema also boasts one of the loveliest bars... More

This locally owned theatre features special movies. There is plenty of underground parking (get ticket validated). Enter the lobby and it is not your typical theater lobby. You can order food, wines, beer, cocktails, etc. You can eat before the show or go sit and be called when your food is ready. The seats are overstuffed to sink into and... More

I went here for a birthday celebration. We got there about an hour early and opted to eat in the little restaurant instead of taking food into the theater. The restaurant is very cute and trendy, has a bar area, as well as an outdoor deck. The food is surprisingly good for a venue such as this. We had the... More
