A great movie theater experience. They make great drinks and good food. The violet crown is a different movie theater experience, but it is casual and fun and a must do when in Austin. Looking forward to my next visit.

If you're like me, you hate going to the movie theater on Friday night because there will inevitably be loud teenagers talking and giggling through the movie, sticky floors, and a slight discomfort with the general crowd being so large. Violet Crown is a totally different movie experience where you have reserved seats, great independent films, lovely cocktail and coffee... More

This is a cool, unique, awesome little place. Nothing like seeing a film like Boyhood in a relatively empty theater on a lazy afternoon. I can't comment on the food since I didn't have any, but from what I hear that's good too. Fellow film lovers will probably love this place. Or anybody for that matter.

Its got it all. Good food, healthy too, and a full bar with terrific local beer. You can order your tickets AND seats ahead, no waiting in line or needing to get their early. The movie selection is excellent, no big budget CGI crap made for the masses. The seats are cozy, the patrons respectful of the beauty and importance... More

Elegant setting to catch an art-house movie and a drink. Good selection of wines at the bar. Highly recommended.

Comfy seats, limited previews, sushi, specialty cocktails, top quality snacks, independent films. Why can't they open one of these near me?

Always go here when in town. I wish we had one in Cary, NC. Popcorn is fresh with real butter. Love that I can get iced tea in a movie theater. Dinner is great! Seating is sooo comfy!!

If you want to see great art house films in an intimate setting with good food and drinks, this is the place, but you have to plan ahead to reserve a seat in these small theaters. The food is creative and definitely above average for a theatre, and you can take bar drinks in to watch the films. Located in... More

This is a nice place but you may wish to buy your tickets beforehand. We went and they were sold out. We had already paid for parking across the street so it was a bummer. If you live in the area, then it is convenient.

Always love this place. It is small in a quaint kind of way. It's still very comfortable. We usually pick quirky romantic or funny films. Our favorite combo for watching this movie is a bottle of Prosecco and a bottomless bag of popcorn.
