I never get tired of visiting the Bob Bullock Texas State Museum; since it opened, I have been a member and have visited the museum at least a eight times, frequently with friends from other states. This is an impressive museum that more than adequately conveys the history and culture of the Lone Star State. My only criticism of the... More

The only down side was there was NO information on the statue that belongs on top the capitol building. Other than that, it was well laid out and easy to maneuver.

Very good location to get a sense of the history of Texas. It's full of information, exhibits, and a wonderful IMAX theater. You leave with a deep appreciation of why Texans are so proud of their heritage.

I really enjoyed this museum. It isn't so huge that you have to spend a whole day (3 easily negotiated floors). A pleasant hour or two will work. It is well organized, there are good displays and some interactive material. It really tells the story of Texas history in a very interesting way. I would have liked a bit more... More

Most of the negative comments talk about the fact that the displays contain reproductions, not originals. WHO CARES! The idea is to relate Texas History. The how and why. The displays just enhance the experience. We found this museum to be very well done and interesting. If in or going through Austin it is definitely worth a stop.

A great place to visit to really understand the origins of Texas. Geared toward the common man (or the droves of elementary students that were there the day we were) this is an approachable museum with interactive activities to keep all enthralled. Well worth the price of admission.

Always a great place for the kids; my youngest son always loves this museum. Very easy to get to from Cedar Creek.

Standard museum fare for local and state history. Saw an interesting exhibit about early relations between pioneering Texans and the Mexicans and Native Americans... parking can be a challenge.

Great and traveling exhibit was Texas Music on the road, which gave you a nice history of Texan music.
