A cute little train that winds through part of the park. It is located near a playground so it is easy to have a few hours of enjoyment in addition to the train ride. Tickets can go quickly so this is something more easily done with little ones on weekdays rather than weekends.

Great bang for your buck. Our whole family of seven rode the train and it was so much fun. The ride is a good twenty-five to thirty minutes long. You get a great view of the park, and at one point of downtown Austin and LadyBird Lake. There was a great busker at the midpoint of the ride and the... More

It's conveniently located right by the playgrounds and cafe, so if you need to wait for the next train you have lots to do! Tickets are cash only (but there's an ATM), and it costs very little to experience this 25 min ride. It's definitely catered to kids, adults should probably not expect too much of seeing any breathtaking scenery.... More

Wife and I had a lot of fun riding the train around the park. I was extremely impressed with the professionalism of the young staff. They did a great job of keeping the riders and the people in the park safe.

Tix go fast and are cash only. Train isn't covered but mostly goes along tree line so you have decent shade. At least in the morning. The breeze makes this a good option in the summer.

This is a nice mini train to take and check out the park. The cost cheap, around $15 for a family of four. It's a fun relaxing way to see Zilker Park.

Funny, I saw a lot of BIG kids on this little train ride. Oops! I was one of them....riding with 4 kiddo's age 2-6. Fun times down at Zilker Park! I remember riding the train when I was a little one, and even though the train doesn't seem as big as it used to, it still was a fun thing... More

One employee working, I asked her if she was the only one working and she blatantly ignored me. She left a line waiting at the front of the ticket station without any explination. We just stood there in the heat not knowing what was going on. After calling an empty booth we all left ( I myself represented my entire... More

I visited Zilker Park in Austin on a weekday morning with my 2 year old. He loves trains so that was the first stop. The Zilker Miniature Train runs every hour on the hour but it is advisable to get your ticket at least about 20-30 minutes before it's departure time. The cost is about $2 for children and $3...
