Funny, I saw a lot of BIG kids on this little train ride. Oops! I was one of them....riding with 4 kiddo's age 2-6. Fun times down at Zilker Park! I remember riding the train when I was a little one, and even though the train doesn't seem as big as it used to, it still was a fun thing... More

One employee working, I asked her if she was the only one working and she blatantly ignored me. She left a line waiting at the front of the ticket station without any explination. We just stood there in the heat not knowing what was going on. After calling an empty booth we all left ( I myself represented my entire... More

I visited Zilker Park in Austin on a weekday morning with my 2 year old. He loves trains so that was the first stop. The Zilker Miniature Train runs every hour on the hour but it is advisable to get your ticket at least about 20-30 minutes before it's departure time. The cost is about $2 for children and $3... The kids love taking the Zilker Zephyr whenever we go to Austin. On one of the turns, mainly in the morning, there is a really cool guy playing his guitar and singing kid appropriate songs as the train passes...the kids love him! Train ride is $2 per kid, $3 per adult.

A fun activity for a nice sunny day. Kids enjoyed the short train ride (20 mins - it runs on the hour) and afterward there is a nice park nearby. You can also take a short walk to Lou Neff point along Barton Creek to see a great view of the city. Kids enjoyed seeing the fish and turtles.

Ok, so I lived in the area and had my friend's kids. They were all tired out from playing in the park so we 'took the train'. For two kids that love trains this was the greatest thing that could ever happen to them. They wpent the entire time waving to people walking faster than we were riding and were... More

My wife and I took our 14 month old on his 1st train ride, even though it's a mini version. He seemed to be impartial to it. I like that it travels alongside the Barton Creek, even under a street bridge. We got lucky weather-wise cuz it wasn't too hot nor too cold. My son probably would've fussed halfway through... More

Was a little cold in December, but an adventure to go around the park and then come back again on the same tracks.
