This park is fantastic. It was great to walk around here and see so many people enjoying the outdoors. We loved to see the dogs and children running around too!

It is a very nice park, lots of open space, great for picnics or just to hang out with kids. We let the kids play in the play area for about an hour. Then took them on the train, which is very cute. It is an open top train so would not recommend it in summer. In Spring and Fall,... More

As professional photographers, we go to Austin's Zilker Metropolitan Park several time a year to photograph the flowers and wildlife (birds, butterflies, and dragonflies). Obviously, winter and early spring photographic opportunities are problematic with many of the plants just emerging from senescence (although there is usually a Christmas light display that provides some interesting perspectives). If not the best of Austin, at least among the top 3. Zilker park it's a jewel! Amazing location with outstanding views of downtown Austin. Plenty of space, trails, river, kayaking, etc. The is no possible way that you visit Austin and not visit Zilker park.

I have seen pictures of Zilker Park with the skyline of Austin in the background, and it reminded me of pictures of Central Park. There are lots of things to do in this park, hiking, biking, walking your dog, watching the various sports games that happen on weekends. And don't forget the Christmas time displays, a must see if you... More

The gardens have a little of everything -- Oriental, rose, herbs, lillies. Visited in March and it was still beautiful.
