Looking to get a feel for the Austin music scene on the quick? This is a great spot for you. With only a few hours to spare in Austin, I made my way to this quintessential destination for music and drinks. The Continental didn't disappoint. Service was good, the beer was cold, and for those few hours, I was really... More

I love hole in the wall places even though this one of the most famous holes in the wall in Austin. Still looks very authentic and original. All the greats played there. Very cool.

After having rain the whole day and literally only staying in our hotel room, we could finally visiting this blues cafe. it's been told that the entrance is free until 09.00 pm. and after that you have to pay $ 10. "The blues Specialist" was on stage and It's good. Friendly people and reasonable price for the drink. The live... More

We went here for a double header band. Had good sound system and service. The bar itself however hasn't had any money put into since about 198: I'd guess. Chairs and tables are shot and bathroom was disgusting. Bands were pretty good though and only $10 door charge for bands.

The Continental Club has an old-school feel: drapey red curtains on the stage, rows of wooden seats, and space for people to stand in front of the stage. The night we went, there was an older crowd, and we saw the fabulous Alvin Brothers. Cold beer, excellent music, friendly people.

We were so disappointed in this venue. My husband and I flew all the way from Southern California to experience truly good blues & rock & roll, and were told this was the place to visit. Our friends who are locals brought us by, we ordered a drink, were feeling happy and tipped the bartender very well, and very shortly... More

Continental Club has bee great every time. I piece of history in a great area full of things to do. Terrific music and reasonably priced drinks. The Gallery upstairs is also very good.

We visited the Continental Club on a recommendation and I"m so glad we did. This laidback atmosphere was more our speed compared to the 6th St. shenanigans. The Gallery at the Continental Club is a small venue upstairs from the main bar and did NOT charge a cover. We saw the tail end of a cool acoustic set of mixed... More

This was the 1st music venue we visited on our recent road trip in Texas and probably the best. The atmosphere is perfect and people are there to listen to the bands as well as generally having a good time. Everyone was really friendly and the band even dedicated a number to us as we were from UK. Drink prices... More
