Closed Monday/Tuesdays Tara has a Restaurant with excellent food, service and Wines. It has a Winery offering wine tastings of their products and you can purchase them or have them shipped to your home address, if the law allows in your home area allows it Tara also offers a B&B housed in a rustic house as if built by a... This is a beautiful vineyard with a great atmosphere. Felt like a little piece of Napa right outside of Dallas. The wine was fantastic. The Deck wine was my personal favorite. Unfortunately the service was horrible. We had the worst waitress ever. Some people should not work with the public. However the owners were onsite and became aware of the... More

Fine wines, great staff, wonderful wine maker willing to spend time talking wines with us, cozy atmosphere, food available looked wonderful (did not stop to eat though), taste and buy, or taste and sit a while, no pressure. All around wonderful experience, and we bought over 1/2 dozen bottles.

WOW! Down a long treed road, you'll come upon a beautiful old small mansion surrounded by vineyards! Spectacular views of the countryside. First class interior, nothing spared! Park your car & walk up the back drive to the winery Enjoy music & wine on the patio & have dinner inside or on the patio! Great wine & food!

This winery is one of the best things to happen to the area!! The first thing you notice is the beautiful view of the vinyard and the mansion. It's secluded, peaceful and perfect for a vinyard. The next bonus is the restaurant whose menu always delivers. REALLY good food is complimented by REALLY good wine. If traveling through the area,... More

Wife and I took a romantic date out here. We spent several hours touring the facility, speaking with the owner and staff and tasting all the wines. We LOVED it. We will visit it again. We bought several bottles of wine and glasses to take home with us. Cant wait to go back!

First of all, there seemed to be a general air of confusion about the place. While we were tasting, we had 3 different servers. It was not really crowded. We had the restaurant chef serving us on and off as he was also cooking. He had no knowledge of which order to serve. We then had another gal (passing through?)... More

I bought a bottle of Moscata a few months ago from Tara Winery and saved for a special occassion. I noticed the cork had moved up a full 1/2 inch under the seal. When I opened the bottle the wine fizzed out, smell sour, and tasted sour. Needless to say I tossed the entire contents. I thought about returning to... More

My husband and I made a day trip to Tara Vineyards and Winery and what a wonderful time we had. We were greeted by Roman the chef and he was a very likeable young man with a great sense of humor. He introduced us to a couple of very flavorful wines that we did bring home. He also made a... More

Driving back home from the DFW Metroplex in the late afternoon. We live 15 miles south of Athens, Tx., 21 miles south of the little sign on US-175 pointing down a little country road with the following, Tara Winery and Dining. My wife and I had noticed the sign many times before but never checked it out. Needing a dining... More
