My father is very knowledgeable on Native American history and knows the story of the Palo Duro Indian battle, so naturally a tour of the canyon was a must. When I discovered Elkins Ranch and their tours I knew it would be worth it. We booked the 3 hour tour. We were the only tour going that morning which was...

The graded roads used by the jeeps were definitely below standard. I felt like we might tip over. The breakfast was good, but unless roads are re-built, I wouldn't go again.

After having read some of the reviews, I was a bit skeptical about making a reservation for the two-hour tour. But I did; and the gate was open at 8:45 a.m. and the driver was at the ready. And we had a great experience! Our driver was a gentleman in his 70s who was a bit quirky, but that honestly...

My husband and I took the Elkins Ranch Jeep Tour into Palo Duro Canyon during our recent visit to Amarillo. It was the highlight of our trip. Our guide, Cathy, was friendly and informative. I would highly recommend the 3 hour trip to the bottom of the canyon. Thank you Elikins Ranch for an unforgettable experience!

Were took the hour jeep tour at the Elkins Ranch July 24, 2010. The cost was 15 for kids and 25 for adults for an hour. The Canyon was just beautiful. The guides were funny and gave us alot of information. My family enjoyed themselves. It was worth every cent.

An Amarillo local she was able to tell is many historical tales and knew many things about geology and weather. It would take you all day to walk to the beautiful vistas she took us to and all day to...

If you go to Palo Duro Canyon, don't miss the sidetrip just across the road to Elkins Ranch.
They have a great cook-out breakfast, with music and entertainers.
And in the afternoons, they also do Jeep tours inside the Canyon.
The breakfast food was good, and the entertainers were a hoot.
It's a little pricey, but it's great fun.

We took the 2 hour jeep tour and it was wonderful. We had an older gentleman as our guide. He was very informative and shared lots of stuff about the canyon. He even kept the interest of our 3 children. They didn't want it to end. The tour was one of the best parts of our 2-week vacation out West....
