Small, but well done

The zoo has tried very hard and all the exhibits are very well done, but it's very small. For $10 for a family of 4 (1 adult, 1 kid at 9yrs old, 1 kid at 7 yrs old and 1 kid at 3... read more

It's a place or little activity to go do with your kids, but I recommend going on Monday as it's free on Mondays. I know the city makes an effort but I've been to many zoos and this one fails in comparison. I truly feel so bad for some of the larger animals that are kept in such a small... More

A very sad zoo. Small pens, lack of water, etc. Just made me so sad to see these animals like this. It should be closed and the animals moved to a better place.

Living here 15 years its come a long ways, yes its very small for being a good size city but its very nice if you have young children, staff is friendly, animals are in good condition, althought i think they need bigger space. Other than that i woukd go and jus enjoy nature

Needed to kill a few hours in Amarillo so we decided to give the zoo a try. It was a great decision! The kids had a blast seeing the animals and playing in the zoo's play structure. My wife commented on how happy the animals look and I was shocked at how close we were. This was a great way... More

Monday's are always free. You can just walk on in. Lions, tigers, bears and even goats! Small but welcoming. Worth a visit.

The zoo is a very small zoo! But with that being said- how awesome is it that Amarillo has one! We love to watch the bears and the monkeys. It's nice to have the zoo as an option to get active and away from the electronic devices and tv!

I enjoy seeing animals that are safely housed, and well fed. These are, and I am told the zoo keepers feed them only what each animal is supposed to eat.

Maybe it's because we're used to the Ft Worth and Dallas zoos, but this is more like a petting zoo. Almost all the animals are farm animals. A long horn, goats, donkeys, diary cows, raccoons, jack rabbits, and antelope. There are a few tigers, lions, and some monkeys that have NEVER been out of their little building so you can... More
