We stayed at the Stillwell rv park and this museum is on the property. It's great. You could probably spend a lot of time here. There are many items to look over. What a great... read more

The personal and office had much to be desired. The grounds themselves were not very well groomed. It was toward the "end of the season" we were told and things were being shut down? There was one other rv there. It was close to the entrance of Big Bend and had full hook up, so it worked for us. The... More

We were exploring the La Linda closed bridge and ghost town down the road from this store. If you pass this store you will dead end there and its an amazing sight. The bridge is barricaded that used to cross into Mexico. We drank a couple beers on the porch here and grabbed some snacks. Out in the middle of... More

This small museum gives you a look at the life of an amazing woman, Miss Hallie Stillwell. Pioneer, teacher, rancher and member of the Cowgirl Hall of Fame.

Hallie was an incredible woman who lived through many tough times. An amazingly strong woman who persevered where we'd all give in. Read her two books: "I'll Gather My Geese" and "My Goose is Cooked" for stories from her life. Sorry this amazing woman has passed on, but her stories remain.

Awesome! After visiting her museum, the house in which she lived, I know I can't ever complain about anything as she had hardships to endure. We have an easy life! And she started her adult life at age 15 traveling alone to be a teacher. Her book, "I'll Gather My Geese" is a must read!

Stopped in to visit while traveling around Big Bend area. Very personable man greeted us and showed us around then allowed us to wonder on our own. Nicely arranged. Allowed us to drive through portions of Stillwell Ranch. Extra special. A little research on Hallie Stillwell prior to visit is helpful toward your appreciation of the lady's life but not... More

Hally's grand daughter was our host and she was so informative and friendly. I had been there before when her mother was running the place but it was a very busy day with at least 10 Motorcyclist and bikers trying to get gas and did not get the tour. Places like this need to go on for future generations and... More
