Great zoo, especially for such a small town!

I really enjoyed this zoo! My boyfriend has a slight case of ADD (well, not that slight), and even he enjoyed being there! We walked around every exhibit there was to see. They... read more

I really enjoyed this zoo! My boyfriend has a slight case of ADD (well, not that slight), and even he enjoyed being there! We walked around every exhibit there was to see. They are currently building a section for the giraffes, I wish I could've seen them! But the zoo was very clean, very fun to look at, and extremely... More

This zoo is a great zoo to spend an afternoon at. The price is very fair for the size of the zoo. The zoo was clean, in exhibits, pathways, and bathrooms. There was plenty of shade and the informational plaques about the animals were educational. The gift shop had lots of fun items as well. My only complaint is that... More

Love the way you can get close to most of the animals...even the lions. If you go towards the end of the day (in the spring) the animals seem to be very active.

My family and I loved this zoo! Cougars, Lions, Bears, Zebras, tons and tons of great animals at a VERY reasonable price. My one tip would be to skip the train ride. It really isn't worth it as the train can't even access all of the animals.

This zoo is not too big and not too small. Wonderful exhibits with so many unique animals. (I saw my first 2 toed sloth)! The staff are all very friendly and professional. The animals seem happy and well taken care of. The train is small but ended up being a highlight of our trip. We can't wait to go back... More

This zoo was the perfect size to visit with a 3 year old. There was a nice variety of animals to see. The train ride was a big hit for children and gave the adults an overview of the zoo. We were there 3 1/2 hours.

The Abilene Zoo is a well designed and kept place to see a great collection of animal life. The animals live in their natural surroundings which add significantly to the learning experience. The zoo continuously improves the zoo facilities, plans the addition of new and upgraded facilities and is actively engaged in helping the survival of animal life. The zoo... More

Ib took my grandson age 4 to the Abilene Zoo. He has a blast and enjoyed every minute of this attraction. The park is clean and well maintained. We also enjoyed the splash pad in the park outside the zoi, so bring your swimming trunks and wet shoes if it's warm enough. This part is free and the kids love... More

This may be one of the smallest zoo's I have ever been to, but it was lots of fun!!! They have a variety of animals, conservation programs for tree frogs, and a big variety of reptiles. The staff was very friendly as well. I advise anyone to go in the mornings because of the size of the zoo. We left... More

Although somewhat hesitant in going the first time, I'm glad I did. I couldn't believe a city the size of Abilene would have a good zoo, and I was wrong. They have a great zoo!! Even though under construction, you only miss out on one exhibit. I bought a season pass and go at least once a month.
