My family and I loved this zoo! Cougars, Lions, Bears, Zebras, tons and tons of great animals at a VERY reasonable price. My one tip would be to skip the train ride. It really isn't worth it as the train can't even access all of the animals.

This zoo is not too big and not too small. Wonderful exhibits with so many unique animals. (I saw my first 2 toed sloth)! The staff are all very friendly and professional. The animals seem happy and well taken care of. The train is small but ended up being a highlight of our trip. We can't wait to go back... More

This zoo was the perfect size to visit with a 3 year old. There was a nice variety of animals to see. The train ride was a big hit for children and gave the adults an overview of the zoo. We were there 3 1/2 hours.

The Abilene Zoo is a well designed and kept place to see a great collection of animal life. The animals live in their natural surroundings which add significantly to the learning experience. The zoo continuously improves the zoo facilities, plans the addition of new and upgraded facilities and is actively engaged in helping the survival of animal life. The zoo... More

Ib took my grandson age 4 to the Abilene Zoo. He has a blast and enjoyed every minute of this attraction. The park is clean and well maintained. We also enjoyed the splash pad in the park outside the zoi, so bring your swimming trunks and wet shoes if it's warm enough. This part is free and the kids love... More

This may be one of the smallest zoo's I have ever been to, but it was lots of fun!!! They have a variety of animals, conservation programs for tree frogs, and a big variety of reptiles. The staff was very friendly as well. I advise anyone to go in the mornings because of the size of the zoo. We left... More

Although somewhat hesitant in going the first time, I'm glad I did. I couldn't believe a city the size of Abilene would have a good zoo, and I was wrong. They have a great zoo!! Even though under construction, you only miss out on one exhibit. I bought a season pass and go at least once a month.

The Abilene Zoo is a wonderful! Our family went over spring break and we visit several times a year. Currently, they are building a new structure at the giraffe exhibit that will be wonderful! It should be open Fall '15. They have added a small train that the kids love. The zoo also has a very nice gift shop. One... More

Having visited many zoos from Texas to Canada, the Abilene Zoo compares favorably to the best of them. The variety of animals, the ongoing improvement in their zoo habitats, and the general layout makes for a great day out for young and old. The summer evening concerts add a whole new dimension to the zoo's appeal.

Very small, not much to see but they do have a couple of nice animals, a beautiful white tiger, a pair of lions and some great reptiles, its nice for very young children but not enough for older ones.
