I had a great time looking through the exhibits but the younger children were a bit bored. I would save this for the true horse lover and let the kids play in the adjacent park with some other adult who might not appreciate touring rooms with little more than horse pictures, stats and throphies. To me...it was heaven!

It was an interesting little place, for my husband especially, since he has a friend who is involved in the world of horse racing. Aiken is involved not just in horse racing but in hunting real foxes and coyotes, and also in polo. It is, as our host and hostess told us, the off season location for horse people. Unfortunately,... This was a fun time and a nice way to spend a half hour or more. We are not horse folks and know nothing about this field, but we've seen a few Kentucky Derby events on TV, so what the heck! If you are really a thoroughbred racing fan, especially of the history of the sport, this is a must. Great pictures and information and a wonderful, knowledgable volunteer to be your guide.
