We visited this museum to view the exhibit of President John Kennedy. That exhibit was wonderful...SO much to see......and all professionally displayed. You'd have thought that we were in a fine museum in Philly or New York City! This exhibit was just a small part of what was on display here, though. We spent over two hours trying to take... More

What an amazing, all-inclusive museum about all-things Lehigh Valley! Visited Allentown for the first time in 20+ years and this was a one-stop trip down memory lane. From photographs to forgotten relics, from the special Lincoln exhibit to the giant book sale, this was a highlight of my trip. The staff is incredibly welcoming, friendly and accommodating. The museum is... More

Had not been to this museum in a number of years, but became a member after visiting one of their numerous historic sites. They will have an upcoming exhibit on President John Kennedy starting the beginng of October, 2015. The second floor covers much history, including Lincoln, the American Revolution, Lehigh Valley history and a county hall of fame. There... More

The museum is housed in an attractive building, but the point of view of most of the exhibits is the history of business in the area. The railroads, energy industries and the glory days of downtown Allentown are represented but there is little mention of unions or life for the average person working in those industries (with the exception of... I joined the heritage center last year and have not regretted it. The membership pays for itself in no time. They have many and varied programs throughout the year. Most programs are great for all ages. Members receive free admission to most programs. Worth the trip.

Our family is from the Weisenberg and Low Hill Townships in Leigh County. They settles here in the late 18th century and left in the early 19th Century. We have been doing research for nearly 40 years on the family. There were some missing pieces so we stopped here to see if we could find anything new. We explained why... More

This is a nice little museum, it has a lot of exhibits of the history of the local Allentown PA area, for locals, it is pretty cool to see how the town has grown up over the years, and to see things that really no longer exist. There are sometimes special exhibits. Parking is an issue, there are few parking... More

We decided to visit the museum to see the Mort Kunstler display. The gentleman at the ticket desk explained the benefits and value of membership, so we signed up to become members and received a free Mort Kunstler calendar. The museum itself is small. The displays are interesting and well done. The viewing of the Kunstler paintings was not as... More

Displays are well assembled and informative. The library is a wonderful assembly of a world full of information for the researcher and history lover. Great place to learn about the Lehigh Valley and their speakers are very educational and interesting. What a treasure!
