The museum has an outstanding collection of fine Renaissance and other European art. Not my thing, but certainly worth a trip. The American art collections are more contemporary and varied and very interesting. No temporary exhibition when I went, but many of the exhibits on the calendar sound like reasons to return.

It was a pleasure to spend several hours seeing all of the many, lovely exhibits at the art museum with my friends recently. The permanent collection there is impressive and the visiting exhibitions were lovely. Above Zero, Sam Krisch's montage of photographs, was captivating to see. We also enjoyed the Folk Art in America exhibit that had about 60 artifacts... More

The Art Museum is a nice place to go to relax especially on a Sunday afternoon. I think that it was a nice gesture to have the admission being free so that more people could enjoy and have an opportunity to share in the Arts. Gene Parker Coplay PA

A nice stop for a few hours. Not a large museum but the art is nice. Special exhibits are always a draw. The Frank Lloyd Wright Room really depicts the architect's style. Staff is always friendly. Park close to the museum--it is safe--but a few blocks away starts to get a little rough. It is near the city government buildings... More

My Dad and I attended a prayer breakfast in nearby Bethlehem, PA, and having heard of "The Woven Welcome" exhibit and both of us being disabled, we wanted to check out the Allentown Art Museum, parking is a short walk from a government parking garage. It was a hot day and the unsweetened iced tea with lemon at the cafe... More

My family and I enjoy visiting the Allentown Art Museum whenever they have a new exhibit. The artistic talents of the artists are superb and refreshing. They even have some resident art that I love viewing every time I visit because I'm always reminded how classic and timeless they are.

Since the museum renovated I became a member.. it is beautiful and so easy to get around and see everything... the galleries are stunning. The Bertoia sound sculpture is so amazing to hear... have a guard play it for you... we cannot touch! The gift shop has something for everyone and the deli/lunch spot is refreshing and fresh!!!

This museum is in an area of town that looked very rough. I was surprised at the streets I had to take to get to it, bad neighborhoods. Once I got to the location the immediate area around it was just ok from what I could see it looks as if that town is trying to make a come back.... More

I stopped by here based on Tripadvisor reviews. I didn't have much time to spend here, but I would give it a solid 3 & 1/2 stars as an attraction. There's a rotating special exhibit and a great children's area sponsored by Crayola where kids can color using colored pencils. It's not as big as other smaller city museums I've... More

Haven't been there recently but the few times I have been, this museum is excellent for a "regional" venue (as opposed to big city such as Philadelphia) and I've enjoyed some excellent special exhibits such as Pa. Impressionism and Amish quilts).
