I have had the pleasure of watching the Shakespeare Festival many times as the chaperone for 8th grade Waldorf students. As they prepare themselves to act in one of Shakespeares many plays. To see the kids become inspired by these wonderful productions will live in me as a highlight in my teaching career.I hope you travelers make this a not to... Since we live in Ashland, we have the opportunity to go to the plays every year. We have great directors! Shakespeare plays are always interesting and different in some way to make they enjoyable year after year. The contemporary plays are equally good. Every year we have sold out plays for good reason!

OSF continues to produce incredible plays that are refreshing, interesting and, in many cases, taking a new and fresh twist.

Showcasing new American Works (American Nights, Ruined), classic American plays and of course, works of the Bard in a variety of indoor and outdoor venues, treat yourself to one of the week or weekend long immersions excursions, where you can see 5 plays in 3 days (or some variant), tour back stage and have an artist talk. WIth a long... More

The Shakespeare Festival, by name, is a toy shop for big children who love theater. Besides Shakespeare in the round (outdoors), there are multiple venues with multiple kinds of plays. Actors often participate in multiple plays so, after 3 or 4 performances, you feel like you have been witnessing an extended family of actors all working together to put on... More

Have been to theaters in San Francisco, LA, NYC, DC, Vienna, Munich, Berlin and London. This is the best and they take the best from Broadway. So well endowed, they can pay for the best playwrites to premier the most outstanding new plays anywhere. Every play has at least one dramaturg, not shared by other productions. Wonderful directors and very... More

I saw♥♡♥♡♥♡♥ Ashland but do not love Shakespeare, who I believe was permanently ruined for me when "read" out loud by illiterate morons in high school. Professional performance in lovely setting but didn't work for me.

I went when I was 8, and am still going today. The first play for me was Taming of the Shrew followed by Romeo and Juliet. Each year, my family and I go out and watch some plays. We watch musicals and comedies. Tragedies and historical plays. From many deaths to many weddings we watch and year after year, we... More

OSF Ashland never disappoints with excellent acting and directing. Amazing to find it in Ashland, OR, a small quaint town with wonderful restaurants, B&Bs and hotels. I can't wait til next season.
