Great deal if you wanna fish off the pier but I would have to say they can be kind of rude sometimes I've been coming down to Avon since I was born and they just hate tourists .. but still a great place to hang out on the beach or fish !

We are staying across the street from the pier, so we walked over to take some pictures. It's a great place to take photos (and fish, of course) We were fortunate to see a whale and dolphins. I just wish I had my long lens on my camera, with me. It cost us a $1 each to walk out on... More

Jarts right out into the Atlantic ocean, Laid back and a real must do when in the area! You can fish right off the pier for a ten dollar bill, they even have fishing poles and bait.

This pier is unique in that it is the most wavy pier I ever walked upon. I believe it is due to repairs after the last hurricane. It does have railings but it also has dips and twists. Still it is fun to walk on which you can do for $1 and check out the waves and wind and people... More

We recently traveled to the Outer Banks of North Carolina and enjoyed Cape Hatteras as well as nearby Kitty Hawk (had to get some education in for the kids!) Avon Pier was just a great experience. good fishing and the staff was fun and very accommodating. The pier itself is quite a site as it has endured several storms and... More

Funny house feeling walking out on fishing pier, otherwise clean and staff friendly, plenty of parking. Easy to get to. Breezy even when not windy onshore.

Yes, it's beaten, wavey and worn but to walk out above the ocean and experience the schools of fish, many fishermen, kids w parents fishing or just enjoying the view, was worth much more than the $1 admission. It was a gloriously sunny day with a light breeze. We all enjoyed this simple pleasure...

It's only a $1.00 to "sight see" onto the pier. The pier is kind of wavy and cockeyed but takes you a good way out to the water or to just sit and watch people fish. The people who work at the pier are helpful and very nice. If you're in the area, it's well worth stopping in.

This was just purchased by the same owners as the resort spa on the adjacent piece of property. Well run, clean facilities and lots of fish!
