Tried out the Avon Pier to fish on a week day night, around 7pm. My self and my younger cousin came in to buy some ice then head on out to try our luck. When we went to the front desk to ask how much for 2 people to fish and some ice, he practically said it's this to fish... More

Great view from the end of the pier, but it looks pretty rickety and may not survive another major storm. Made some members of the family very nervous when walking out there. Worth the $1 to check out the view though.

We were looking to kill some time while our house was getting done. Great walk out on the pier and to fish with the kids.

Only $1 to walk out on the pier for "sightseeing". There are picnic tables and benches if you choose to bring a lunch or drinks. Don't let the ruggedness of the pier scare you, it withstood hurricane irene without any difficulty!

Worth the $1 to just walk around. Nothing spectacular about it as a "tourist" site, but if you like to fish off of a pier, it is worth it. Nice that you can rent poles right there if you want.

We did not fish, only went out with friends, but a nice relaxing area. Small fee to go onto. A relaxing hour or so.

Admission to this pier was included with the house we rented, and it was close by, so we took full advantage, visiting almost every day. I imagine the sunrise would be quite a nice site, but I never saw it! Reasonable fee (1$?) and shop at head-end, though a little pricey.

I don't fish, but one gets a free ticket (saves you a dollar) to stroll out on the pier when you dine at Pangea. The pier is wide and solid but a bit of a roller coaster (i.e., not built in the most linear fashion!). Lots of folks come here to fish, and from the looks of it, a few... More

Our family enjoyed a nice quick walk to the end of the pier to check it out and take in more great OBX views. Pier dotted with fishermen and some photogs. $1/pp to sightsee worth it.Then walked to beach below to see more views and ghost crabs. Wouldn't make a day trip out of it but a great local spot...
