We spent a couple hours exploring the fort, museum and gift shop. We watched a video that depicted the history of the fort and the times it was used over a span of many decades, from the Civil War to WWII. Very informative. Even showed the kitchen and how they they cooked and what their meals consisted off. The whole tour can be done in a couple of hours leaving plenty of time for other things. More

The fort was really well restored. There are several rooms with displays set up. Be sure to climb on the ramparts - the view is pretty amazing. More
