Large multiple area recreation site at very large lake. Excellent public boat ramps. Great picnic areas in a variety of settings. Small nature center with some exhibits. I've used this rec area for bicycle outings. I haven't used the public beaches...they look nice but don't know the 'feel' of the sand or shallow bottom area of the lake.

The lake is man made and if you are used to Northern deep blue lakes it is not pretty. On the other hand you can see eagle nests, eagles soaring and fish. It's warm and the beaches are full in the summer.

Lovely lake with nice state park beaches, grills and picnic tables, children's playgrounds, marina for renting boats and to have a family picnic. Clean restrooms and freshly raked sand: you get the picture!

We have camped at Crosswinds campgrounds several times and it has always been enjoyable. The park is family friendly and well maintained.

Spent a weekend camping at Jordan Lake recently and forgot how much fun that is. We went to Parker’s Creek camping area but Poplar Point and Crosswinds are other options too. In Parker’s Creek there are several loops where you can reserve a campsite but other loops where you just show up and pick a site. Was nice to enjoy... More

We don't boat or fish but we do love to walk. Our favorite times are when the water level is low (during a drought) so you can walk around the lake. All the tree roots and rocks are exposed. They also have campsites and beaches in some areas if you want to spend more than just a day there. My... More

Jordan lake is ideally located for a quick weekend get away for family and kids. We love to to go on a Sat and jet ski with the kids. They bring their friends and it always a blast. The smaller beach is great for a tan . Make sure to bring snacks and drinks and a blanket. It can get... More

Love it, will like to go again and enjoy other things of the park with my family. Maybe next summer we can do that.

Nice on weekdays, crowded with amateurs on weekends. Pack a lunch and a cooler and be certain you do not need gas because Crosswinds Marina offers gas around $5 a gallon, no beer or wine, limited supplies and their snacks consist of a few candy bars and chips. Lake is nice but Haw river and Chapel Hill area are quickly... More

Unfortunately Jordan lake is polluted and in trouble. The proposed 751 project will certainly damage it further. If you do visit the recreation areas you better wear shoes. There is so much broken glass, etc. that it is dangerous. Falls lake might be a better alternative but not sure.
