If you are in the Raleigh or Pittsboro area, make sure to take a bit of time to visit Jordan Lake, it is beautiful. I did not fish or anything like that but I understand the fishing is very good.

We went boating and enjoyed the boat launch. There are several around the lake. We loved the scenery.

Great place to visit and relax or spend an entire day out and about. With all the different areas there is always something to see or somewhere new to go. We loved the lake, swimming and boating and spent days there.

Very nice state recreation area with a lot to do. Our site was right on the water so we had a marvelous view. We did a little hiking and visited the dam. The bathrooms could use a little updating, no bench and only one hook, but they were clean. I would definitely visit again!

We have utilized this location as the last day spent with both of our dogs prior to putting them down. It is serene and peaceful and will always be special to us.

Located just west of Raleigh, Jordan Lake is a great natural getaway. Poplar Point is one of the campground areas with several loops, some of which can be reserved and some are first come first served. We have stayed in C loop twice. The sites are wooded, large, and many are near the lake. Most feature water and electric, none... More

We went camping one night over Labor Day weekend. We took our kayaks, bikes, went fishing, kids played in water. We saw a bald eagle dive into lake after a fish!!! It was a lot of fun! We also have friends we have gone out with on their boat and that is very fun too.

Can't say enough about Poplar Point campground - in my opinion, the best at Jordan Lake for tent camping! Great views, nice restrooms w/ showers and some measure of sand on the shore for kids to have fun in.

Beautiful camp sites with plenty of space between campers. Each site has a picnic table and a fire pit. The bathrooms are close and clean.
