Pleasantly surprised by this camping trip. I have read some mixed reviews pf Jordan lake so I want to address those. First, yes there are some busy weekends here so avoid camping on peak weekends like Memorial and labor day. Utilize the state park systems website to reserve your spot and check photos and maps to be sure that you... More

This is a great area for hiking and water recreation. There are multiple entrances and locations, so be sure to look at the maps and directions on their website to know where you're going.

We arrived after the crowds had left the day after Memorial Day. Our first time here and we were so impressed with the large, shady campsites - we almost had the place to ourselves and it was a wonderful experience. What a pity the restrooms and showers were so awful. Nobody came to clean them while we were there, the... More

This is a great park, for a picnic or using your boat. Only problem is that it gets VERY Crowded, especially on holiday weekend and during the Summer. Need to get their early and you will get a good spot and enjoy yourself

I was a little worried about the crowds this weekend at Jordan Lake, but we had an amazing time camping, hiking, and swimming. Most campers were very courteous and friendly. This is a great weekend getaway from the Raleigh area - definitely worth a stay!

Jordon Lake is a beautiful man-made lake just a few miles West of Cary and Apex, NC. It's a great place for a picnic or for just sitting on the beach enjoying the Sun.

Took the family and kids + kids friends (tweens) camping for the weekend for a belated birthday party. So much more fun and cheaper than a 2 hour party at a bounce place or something. We got a whole weekend out of it! Plus it is only about 15 minutes from Apex so you are not totally isolated but it... More

Jordan lake is not great for boating! Water levels are unpredictable. One min its 5ft and next its 30ft then 5ft again in seconds! I hit a stump in the lake and lost my trolling motor! So I'm only going to boat at one place from this point on and not falls!! Hope this helps!

Cannot wait for summer and boating season to arrive so we can get back out on the lake. The lake is somewhat muddy but the ramps and parks are well maintained. Plenty of coves to anchor nod enjoy the day. Eagles are a common sight, so sit back and enjoy.
