A brilliant site - drive or take a tour around this 5 km city. The achitecture and the ruins are so interesting as are the many gates. The highlights are the green alter stone and the hieroglyphs. If you are on a tour, make sure you ask to stop and see these as a lot of buses just seemed to... More

The site of Hattusa sits up the hill from the adjacent town of Bogazkale. Its a vast site about 7km round circuit with 2-3kms of uphill walking. Visit the covered bridge/tunnel looking over the previous Hittite land area. Plenty of walking...so bring good walking shoes. No facilities in the area. Way out of any city. Lots of historical sites to view and to hike to.

this city has been there since 2nd millennium B.C. woww.. it is the memory of the world. We loved and advise everyone who loves historical places.

The ancient Hittite capital, this city was built over 3500 years ago, making it far older than the Greek ruins found in other parts of Turkey.
