It's not old. It's not the pinnacle of islamic architecture. But - it's very, very big. Wikipedia says 24000 can fit - I don't know what 24000 people look like, but when I went, walking barefoot on the carpet (I've since been told that's a no-no), there were only some children playing catch (and they were barefoot, too, so I... I think this is the real must-see place in ankara... i even like it more than the blue mosque, in istanbul.. it is big, peaceful, full of colours. A beautiful place to pray, no matter what God...

One of the most beautiful interiors I have ever seen. Details everywhere. The chandelier at the center is breathtaking. The surrounding neighborhood is very nice, and a wonderful place to eat as there are many restaurants.

This is one of the largest mosques in Turkey, a poor replica of Mimar Sinan' s mosques in Edirne and Istanbul. Visiting the place is total waste of time.

This is perhaps the largest mosque in Turkey, but quite uninspiring in terms of the architecture and the interiors. Considering that it is a relatively a new mosque, one has to compare it with the ones in Doha, Casablanca, Muscat and Abu Dhabi. It does not come even close. Young men were lying sprawled on the floor inside as if... More

When I visited this mosque in 2013 I was physically harassed by the caretaker. Of course I had my hair covered with a scarf and taken my shoes off, but the caretaker followed me onto the ladies floor and touched my shoulder, back and butt. Not really the best experience a woman can have in a mosque.

This is a nice place. But I didn’t like the location which is not good. It is easy to rich this place by taking a walk from KIZILAY. I loved the nice food in the store under this mosque.

Just get in, free of charge and enjoy the space and silence and magnificent interior. This mosque reportedly is one of the biggest in Turkey and relatively new.

I have been there several times during years, and each time enjoyed it. It is a beautiful monument and sure enough, it should be on everybody's "must see" list. Make sure you visit the interior, preferably at the time when there is no prayer, for both, not disturbing the people praying and for better enjoying the wide space and beautiful... More

PROS: Actually, it is more beautiful than 'The Blue Mezquita' at Istanbul, and I'm living here at the moment, and see this its more than wow! from every little piece you look at, you see perfection, you can hear your steps and voice echo, it felt so amazing. CONS: If for some reason you are at Kizilirmark Avenue with Bankaci... More
