Number 1 university in the Philippines. You have to pass the UPCAT to be admitted as "Scholar ng Bayan". Tuition fee defends on the salary bracket of the parents or guardian. Very nice and huge campus with a lot of big Acacia trees that almost shade the entire oval. A lot of joggers from morning till night. Students don't need... More

The relatively new stalls around the oval still offer the variety offered before by the ambulant vendors and informal food stalls. Eating can now be more convenient whether that is a plate of pancit canton or pesto pasta.

aside from serving as a haven for the countries education, the wide campus has a lot of natural fresh air - courtesy of the ancient trees. Joggers, runners are welcome. There is clean filipino street food - cheap. There is also a photocopier, bookbinding and internet service. You just have to find it and learn how to commute on jeepneys.... More

I always pay a visit to my alma mater each time I travel to the Philippines. There are always changes but some things have not changed. What are new this time? Well, the lane reserved for running and walking and biking. UP students are now exercising their bodies and not just their brains. Also new is the dorm that replaced... More

UP Diliman is the Philippines' top university, used to be among the best in Asia (until budget cutbacks left it short of funds to maintain its world-class standing). It is situated in the Diliman, Quezon City district and was the site of a student commune in the 1970s when students and teachers took over the campus to protest the Marcos... More

It has its charm. Lane for pedestrians - excellent idea and a model for others to follow. Security is a bit of a problem. Tsk. Tsk,

Though I didn't make the trip with Dad this time, I made it a point to go visit his old campus. It's beautifully maintained and it's a historic site. I had a great time.

This campus is one of the best I have seen in the RP. There are lots of open spaces for jogging, walking, or biking. Of course the population is dominated by students going about the daily business of being students. The iconic carillon tower is there, as well as the century old Colleges of Law and the College of Education... More

I will always want to keep coming back to where I belong, and UP Diliman is one of those places. I even enjoy taking my kids there for playtime. UP Diliman is one of the best jogging places in Quezon City, where you can run around to your heart's content, especially during Sundays where they implement a no-car oval policy.... More

This university is ripe with Philippine history. But you need a well-informed guide (aka UP students/alumni) to show you around and discuss the stories behind the various sculptures inside and outside the school buildings. Also a great place for jogging/biking. Vast campus. Fresh air. Old trees everywhere to give you shade.
