I recommend visiting the art gallery at the U of P when visiting. It has many wonderful paintings and images of well-known Philippine artists over the years, so it's art and history in one! The grounds of the university are nice to stroll around - great trees!

Large open greenery. Great for families especially on the weekends as they block off the roads. Great for runners and cyclers as well. There's a great area near the chapel for yummy street style food.

UP Campus is great for walking, running and biking. It is open to the public on Sundays. Lots of families gather together for picnics. Bring your own food as there are only street vendors around. Pets are no longer allowed. Great campus to study or just walk around.

Walk in the shade of the giant acacias even at high noon...jog all you want around the academic oval. I Just wish ordinances limiting ikot/toki jeepney noise and pollution would be implemented. How about ejeeps and etrikes? And have bike racks or bike rentals like in london... cant wait for this university to lead the way in spearheading environment protection... More

Walked the 1.5 mile loop under tree cover twice......lots of joggers, walkers, bicyclists kept me company. But it's Manila and outdoor exercise where ther's outdoor pollution just sucks.

The university has a hotel so it's a good alternative to staying in hotels in MetroManila. If you're a physical fitness buff, you wake up early in the morning and walk or run around the academic oval without being bothered by greenhouse gases from motor vehicles. You can do that too in the late afternoon. There's a museum to while... More

The academic oval is closed to vehicles during Sundays making the UP Lagoon, Sunken Garden and Ampitheater great places for outdoor play activities, picnics and the like. Jogs, biking and even skating is highly enjoyable during this day, but also doable during weekdays because of the dedicated jogging lane and permanent single-way flow of traffic. There are a lot of... More

Visit the Vargas Museum (closed on Mondays, 30 pesos entrance). They have an extensive permanent collection of classical painters (Amorsolo, Luna, etc.) The first floor hosts different artists so exhibits change from time to time. Sit at the AS steps to enjoy the view or eavesdrop in students' discussions. If you get hungry, troop to Area 2 (JP Laurel Street).... More

I finished my undergraduate course there. I treasured the 1960's experiences when I studied there. Of course, it is much different now.
