My wife and I worked with these women for many years. We have left The Philippines now but continue to buy (and resell) their products in Australia. This is a cooperative which produces handbags, lunch boxes, house decor, jewelry made of recycled juice sachets and newspaper. The coop is comprised of about 100 women from depressed areas of Manila who have come together, pooled their resources and established a system of profit sharing that drastically improved their standard of living.
