Pleasant walk along Roxas Boulevard, from the American Embassy down the promenade, a walk of about 40 minutes, recommended to do it in the late afternoon because of the heat is exhausting. There are many people who flock to this road along the bay. You will almost certainly be approached by traders who will invite you for a ride with... More

Roxas Boulevard was once the most beautiful street in Manila, in not all of the Philippines. In the 1950's and 60's it was a gorgeous place to walk along and could have easily rivaled Kalakaua Street along Waikiki in Hawaii. Now though, decades of corruption, poor infrastructure, and overpopulation have turned it into a foul-smelling, dingy place that I would... More

I hadn't walked on Roxas Boulevard in years and took my young daughter there to see Manila Bay. Just north of the Marina was disgusting - dirt and litter everywhere, squatters camped out under the trees, a sewage stink coming from the sea and traffic fumes from the other direction. You have to take your life in your hands trying... More

A road which was design to capture the Manila bay sunset but is already filled with stores and crowded with so many people but it can still show you the sunset that it is famous for.

The street could be really nice. Unfortunately it is dirty, has a really strong sewer odor and is really popular with the homeless. I walked down the street and the smell was so bad it gave me a headache. There are lots of homeless that swim in the ocean and sit by the sidewalk. You will be asked for money... More

We wanted to walk along the walkway by the bay from the US Embassy. It looks very pleasant. Unfortunately the stink from the water and surrounds was horrendous. We only walked 50 metres and then had to move away. People were in the water but i suppose they are used to it. The areas under the trees was so dirty... More

could walk along the ocean, with nice sunset, but didn't feel completely safe, because a lot of men stared at us (two girls alone) abbiamo camminato lungo l'oceano, con un bel tramonto, ma non ci siamo sentite particolarmente al sicuro, perchü molti uomini ci fissavano, due ragaze da sole

One great thing about Manila is Roxas Blvd. Where you see Manila Bay and enjoy the sunset. I wanted to spend more time looking around but i'm not so sure for security if with family. Perhaps an area designated for known food stalls just for snacks will help. I tend to avoid street food while travelling. The Famous Sunset really... More

This all the filipino you can get, it's just a very short boulevard, but once you pass by this, you will learn mostly everything you should by staying in The Philippines, it is a landmark and should be considered a national heritage, paging politicians, please improve this road!

Thirty years ago(it was called Dewey Blvd before that), walking along the Manila Bay on this road was so "pure and simple" where few big buildings is erected on the bay side area and the the sun sets beautifully in horizon...Now buildings sprouted left and right and "blocking" the majority of the view of the bay when you are walking...
