The gardens are fairly extensive and full of a range of tropical plants. Good for photo's. Slightly hilly for those not so able. Here you can also see many tropical fruits and of course the tortoises. More

We visited on a day after heavy rains, but were disappointed overall with the layout. Some paths were designed for easy walking/wheelchair/pushchair use, and were well-marked out, but the more interesting paths through the plants (which were not well signed) would be a bit of a challenge to most people without suitable footgear as they were narrow, uneven, and very... The park is close to town, it is a place for visits or taking photos. It has an enclosure for tortoises, so kids might enjoy it. The place is open at certain times only, so for visits purpose one needs to check the opening/closing times. More

The gardens are well tended but missing signs for a lot of trees and plants. If you didn't go to Praslin and Curieuse Islands then this may be the only place you will see tortoises and the Coco de Mer trees. However, the tortoise reserve on Curieuse and the Coco de Mer forest on Praslin are much much more interesting... More

Dont miss the Coco de Mare tree planted by the Duke of Edinburgh in 1956, the huge bats roosting high in the trees and some beautiful flowers. For us the highlight was the group of giant tortoises that were active and very noisy. More

Despite the amazing variety of flora on the island, this botanic garden doesn’t offer much. It’s probably the smallest botanic garden I’ve ever been to. You can, however, see giant tortoises there. More
