Amazing big tuna fishes! For traveling convenience, we bought canned tunas! Took lots of photographs especially the way they transport tunas by dragging the big fish from one place to another...

It is a small market but very interesting and clean. The fish are laid out on cool tiles and do not smell at all. It is fascinating to see the fish being cut up.

See fish of all sizes, colours and varieties- and all so fresh here. And a spectacular style of cutting the fish, where they kind of slice the fish leaving the bone in-tact, into two main parts which thus has no bones. I hear that they put the bones back so that the small fish can eat it and grow. What... More

This is a small but interesting fish market. Mostly tuna and as others say it is worth taking at a tuna being cut up.....those knives are sharp. There is really no smell for a hot and humid climate. It is not far from the fruit and veg local markets as well. Go early if you can.

The fish ere not refrigerated as such but lay on the cool wet tiles under the big market roof. The men skinny and filleting... More

after a week's diving, we were curious to see what the local fish market would be like. we weren't disappointed. all the local varieties were on display - even on the floor! mostly varieties of tuna, but there were a few other species on display. the locals buy their fish whole, then take it to the prep area to be... This place is the main fish market in Male city and you'll get almost all the varieties of fish out there. They provide fish cutting service as well

To watch these men filet a fish so precisely and quickly was fascinating to watch. If you can handle the smell, it's worth a visit:)
