You can visit to see the common fishes we the Maldivians eat daily. The most common fishes here are Yellowfin Tuna, Skipjack Tuna, Sailfish, Reef fishes (white fish), Wahoo or Sea fish is a bit seasonal. If you like to buy fishes this is the place to buy direct from the fishermen. On Fridays there are less fishes and most... More

Tuna is the only that the Maldives as a country produces. It's nice to check out how the locals live. Also I was informed that the fish market is cleaned and sanitized every night prior to closing, as required by law. The Maldivian government recognizes itself as a tourism country and it has implemented this rule since they know the... More

I love the fish market, I visited it twice! If you are not into the smell of fish then it's not the place for you. You can literally watch the fishing boats come in, then the fish goes into the market, people buy it, and he fish mongers will prepare it if required. A Friday is the worst day to... More

a chance for you to see all the fishes available in Maldive, surprisingly many of their harvest actually goes exported instead of consuming by locals. Mostly you would see tuna here. Along the way there are a lot of daily necessity shops where local come and run their daily errand. Its a great place to go and experience how the... More

A neat and tidy place quite different from the usual fish markets. It is an open and spacious place where a wide variety of fish available especially in the morning and in the evening when fishermen come with their catch. Big yellow fin tunas and different types of reef fish are major attractions.

Daily catch of fish on display and being cleaned and skinned etc. Neat place to see. Prepare yourself for the smell and the wet floor. Friendly local people at the market.

Lots of reef fish lying on the floor for customers to pick. Interesting sight especially with so many types of fish to see. However I really couldn't stand the stench there.
