Lots of catches on that day. Never seen so much yellow fin tuna in my life before. It was also said that it was currently a low fishing season. The high season will coming in 49 days more.

Male is a very small city that can be navigated by walking. I took a leisurely 15 min to reach the fish market from Hotel Octave (centre of city). Beautiful pictures can be easily taken ith the beautiful pier and boats as the background.
The market is rather small, however, it was quite an eye-opener to see big fishes of...

It was very interesting to hear the maldivian people bidding for tuna and other sort of fish both big and small

Must visit place when visiting Malé. Fantastic big tuna fish and other tropical big game fish. Interesting to see how experts cut and clean the fish in front of you.

We got to see many fishes and market was like a typical market. I would not recommend it as a separate visit unless you are in the vicinity.
Visit here if you enjoy the smell of fish. It's an interesting place to watch people bargaining over heaps and heaps of fish, and a good photo opportunity for those snap-happy travellers like me. Make sure you be careful as you walk around as it can get quite slippery.
amazing range, and so cheap! Didnt buy any but just interesting to see people shopping for fish, seeing how plump and fresh the fish looked. Watched people cut and clean the fish on the spot, such professionals! Visit the vegy/fruit market next to it- some people let you try some of their fruit and sweets. Most of their fruit comes...
