One of the biggest fish market in the world

This market is very big, it's rated as one of the 10 biggest fish market in the world, selling all kinds of fishes here, seems most of them are in low prices.

Enjoyable to see the types and amounts of fish caught and sold locally. Small market, befitting small island and ecologically sustainable fishing. There are possibly other markets that have different fish.

This is one of the good fish market in the region. The fish here is fresh just off the boats. You must buy the dry fish here which is very good. The special Maldives dry fish is available in the shops nearby. If you want to buy the above come here otherwise give it a skip.

We went there as a day trip to Male. The fish market is just another fish market. Nothing special about it. Smelly and crowded. You can't spend more than couple of minutes there. The market is very near to other clothes market and we jumped out of the place to there.

Nothing spectacular about the fish market. Pretty much the same as any fish market, and small in selection. But it was part of the city tour and it shows the typical life of a Maldivian when going to a wet fish market. The fish were fresh and worth buying if to be cooked soon. It fronts the fruits and produce... More

This review is quite late. I booked the walking tour in Male City through UI Inn and Male Fish Market was among the places we visited. Compared to other fish markets I have been to, this one is quite small. At any rate, there was a local restaurant nearby where where no tourist can be seen. I think this is... More

Fun and interesting, it's nice to see all that is happening inside this market. Don't skip it! We recomend to eat near the fish market, a place called Down Town, it's open 24h and it's where all the fisherman eat. You can have the real taste of Maldivian food. And at great price!
