The Mulee Aage or the Presidential Palace is located next to the Old Friday Mosque. From the street the palace looked like any well-built residential house with strong wall around the place. Since we could not enter the premises, we could only viewed the generous entrance with nice manicured garden in front of the place. We gave up entering the... More

We were shown the Presidential Palace whilst on our walking tour of Male. It is located about half way between the jetty and the fish markets. The first thing that grabs you are the high walls and all the security cameras. Fortunately, there is a spot where you can photograph the quaint little Presidential Palace. The gardens are really lovely... More

Muleeaage was built as the palace for the local sultan in the early 20th century. It has had somewhat of a checkered past being used a general government offices, the actual residence of the president for 40 years up to 1994 then again after 2009. The imposing wall that circles the property takes away most of the views of the... More

Mulee Aaage is located opposite the presidential jetty and it makes for a nice evening stroll with the breeze blowing. We were there on a Friday evening and since Friday is a holiday in Maldives, all the locals along with their families were out. Male is such a small island that even the presidential palace does not seem very big... More

as there is not much space in the pumping capitol of Male even the palace of the presidents is not very big. you walk by and just don't recognise that you are at the government palace.

We visited the Mulee Aage on 25 June 2014 , riding a hired taxi to show us around.Paid for MVR 150 or about USD 9.5 for a 1 hour+ ride and photo stop. The Mulee Aage is located opposite the presidential jetty, main jetties, and between the Ameer Ahmed Magu and Buduthakurufaanu Magu, surrounded by the Islamic Center , Majedhee Building,... This is president's residence & is just opposite to the Presidential Jetty terminal # 1.... This building is situated between fish market & main ferry terminal/eatery joints/hotels... It is said that when some neighboring country rebels attacked Maldives few years back, they landed on this terminal only. Now, this building is the most guarded building in Male with Ivory white... Worth a few minutes visit to one of the few sites and sights of Male. Find somewhere to sit in the nearby park but don't forgetto apply bug repellent first.

There are very few of the traditional old buildings left in Male but this is one of them and it is beautifully maintained and reminds you of a Maldives from long ago. Well worth a look and very photogenic. This is one of my favourite places and I always stop when I pass by and imagine a time gone by.

The Mulee Aage is the official residence of the Maldives President. As part of our walking tour, my parents and I visited this palatial home, alas, only from the outside. We were not allowed to go inside and were stopped at the gate like all the other tourists. The view was beautiful from the outside and one can only imagine... More
