Owner description: Imagine yourself cruising through an underwater garden filled with tropical fish. This is exactly what you will experience during your 45 minute dive. On board the submarine you will descend to a submerged reef 45 meters beneath the surface. However the first stop is at 25 meters where you will see a colorful display of corals and different types of reef fish. In most of the dives the submarine is greeted by a school of blue or yellow-stripped Snappers. Common Lion-fish, Yellow Box Fish and turtles are usually found here. Next stop at 40 meters is yet another type of coral garden and depending on current the submarine will be beached on a sandy spot just close to a big cave. The exterior lights of the submarine will enable you to see the different types of fish taking shelter inside the cave

I really didn't expect to see whales, but what was presented was anti-climatic at best. The trip took 45 minutes. They spent 1/2 the time so the right side could see the reef and fish, including 2 moray eels, then turned around so the left side could see the reef. There were 2 divers who feed fish during the journey,... More

Dear Mathew, Whale Submarine is named so because, the Whale Submarine is designed like a whale. We do not advertise our excursion as a whale watching underwater experience. We have looked into the turtle incident and have taken adequate steps towards the divers as our hostess has brought this to our attention. We take precautions to cause no damage to... More

It was a wonderful experience; visiting the submarine and seeing the multicolored variety of fishes, and the beautiful coral garden under water. It would be a great experience especially to those who cannot snorkel or who haven't been under water. During the sunny days the trip would be excellent & worth the price being paid.

a glimpse of the deep blue indian ocean, the ride is slightly overpriced, for the 45 minute trek, it achieves a depth of about 40m, disappointing may be for those adrenaline junkies, parks itself near a reef, and you see multicolored reef fish, a Murray eel if you are lucky, not to worry if u dont see any fish at... Thank you very much for you review on TripAdvisor on Whale Submarine Maldives. We do not park the Submarine underwater at 45 meters. We drive the Whale Submarine along the beautiful wall of Tear Drop reef. Whale Submarine maneuvers slowly to make sure that you get the best underwater Experience. We hope to see you back once again! Thank you More

You get a glimpse of the under water world through a ride in the Whale Submarine. If you expect a long under water ride you'll be disappointed. The submarine takes you to a depth of about 30 metres and positions itself near a reef. If you are lucky you'll be blessed with the sight of an array of fish, big... More

What a great experience. Lots of fish and lovely views. Friendly crew who invited us to share their lunch when we surfaced. Once in a lifetime thing.

If you expect a nice ride on a submarine, forget it. The submarine itself is nice, even if seats are quite unconfortable with respect to the windows. The sub reverse from his departure point, then goes down up to 40m in an area with very few corals and not much variety of marine life. The sub will then remain still,... More

A 45 minute visit in the deep. Full of fishes, aprox 30 m underwater. A little bit expensive (aprox 150 dolar / person), but nice.

it is a bit pricey if you are a family, but if you can afford it, it is a great experience to see the under water coral habitation especially if you are not a diver. The crew is extremely polite and very helpful with spotting and explaining the living creatures. You will even see some divers swimming along the submarine.... More

Haven't been under water for ever, since i am somewhat hydrophobic... Got an opportunity to experience under water life without facing my fear...ha ha.. As the submarine was going inside, oxygen level tend to drop slightly, but was experienced later with course of time !! As we came underwater below 100 meters, i could clearly see a whole variety of... More
