I was there for Carmen In Dance, and I was shocked with the stage, I kept complaining and then my friend remind me that we were in MPO, so I will just keep in mind that I dont need to go there anymore for ballet/dance event, but I will for an orchestra.

I visited the mpo and was quite dissapointed from the hall. I was expecting a fabulous hall, in the twin towers, but it was a really small hall, and at the ground floor the seats are not at the correct angle. It worths to go, only if you have a seat at the balconies. The sound quality was really good,... More

Had a really enjoyable visit to see the New Year Dances. The concert hall was lovely, but quite modest in comparison to some in Europe. The acoustics were up to par though. The resident orchestra were splendid. Concert master was brilliant and so was the cello soloist. The conductor was really warm and welcoming toward the audience. Overall really enjoyable.... More

The MPO was founded towards the end of the last millennium and is one of the most recent philharmonic orchestras to have been formed. 107 musicians came together under the sponsorship of PETRONAS, mainly westerners but with a significant number of Asians including a smattering of Malaysians. Over the following 16 years more Malaysians have joined the orchestra which continues... More

Have been there for concerts on numerous occasions throughout the years. For a concert hall, it is relatively small and cosy but I think that the venue, acoustics and facilities cannot be faulted and the staff are quite professional. The resident orchestra / the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra is of world class too, with mostly foreign musicians. Very convenient as it... More

Lovely modern hall set in the base of the Petronas towers. Front row tickets were just £10 GBP. A pleasant activity when in town.

Everyone must at least go experience an orchestral performance once in their life. Although expensive (by Malaysian standards), it is an unforgettable one.

We went to the Mozart/Mendelsohn concert. I am not really an expert in classical music, but this concert did not grab me as much as other classical concerts I have been to. Maybe it was the acoustics, which are fine but not special, or maybe it was the pieces that just weren't entirely my thing. Many people in the audience... More
