There are volunteers inside the museum come over and ask do you want any guided tour. Their presentation is so clear and English is very good !!!! It makes the journey very informative and I learnt a lot about Malaysia ! One thing I don't like is the location. Need to walk a lot from any railway station.

We joined a tour with 8 children aged 5-14 and with hindsight should have just made our way round ourselves. The tour was very informative but very long for young children; I would go again with adult guests. Guide was very well-informed and relaxed and display material very well-labelled so even going by ourselves we were able to get a... More

The museum was extremely cheap - only 5 ringgit. It was really nicely set out, had lots of interesting pieces, and was very informative. I did find that there tended to be too much writing to read, and that it might benefit from an audio guide. Having said that, you can read as much or little as you like. Set... More

There are four sections to the museum covering prehistory, early history ,the impact of the arrival of Europeans and finally the creation of modern Malaysia. Good displays ad clear explanations. Very enlightening.

National museum is small but has very details information about Malaysian culture, history and people. It is not a must visit but people who like to know details of a country, should visit this one. Rooms are pretty organised and information is quite detailed.

Provides a very comprehensive insight into the history and Malay culture of this country. No trip to KL will be complete without visiting Museum Negara. To get there, the HOHO bus stops directly outside, or you can take the GoKL bus which is free, its the same route as the one for KL Sentral. Entry is only few ringgit (cash... More

Located in a building resembling a Malay palace this great museum tells the story of the country's history in an entertaining & interesting way. We found it absolutely fascinating. Outside the main buildings were some lovely old cars & trains.

Whilst the national museum is not one of the largest museums, it is probably one of the most comprehensive providing an overview of the culture, people and history of Malaysia from the stone age through to the present day. The museum is well laid out have one very large room for each facet of the countries history and really has... More

Going to the national museum is a must do before to understand about malaysian cultural variety and before going to Penang or Melaka. The price is very cheap (5ringgit in June 2015), it is easily accessible by GoKL bus from KL sentral (less easy wailking but feasible). This museum is pretty well done, exhibition is modern, and the content is... More
