To be honest, I can't actually recall too much of my visit to this museum because it was fairly mundane. There was a couple of red cannons in the front with a sign that you could take a photo with and an airplane at front of the entrance. Inside, you learnt a little about the history of Malaysia and its... More

Malaysia's premier museum located on the fringe of the KL Lake Gardens serves as a repository for the nation's rich history & heritage. Its facade features a styled roof & 2 impressive front murals. It has 4 main galleries: Cullture, Face of Malaysia, Natural History & Weaponry, Traditional Musical Instruments & Ceramics. Highlights are Malay dagger, ceramics from Ming Dynasty... More

When I was in KL I didn't go to the top of the Petronás Towers, the weather didn't cooperate so I wouldn't have seen much. But I went to the National Museum and had an enjoyable afternoon. Learned a lot about the formation of the Country of Malaysia and I would highly recommend it.

Sadly this museum is a bit small and the displays while fantastic are to few to cover such an extensive history of Malaysia. I only had a limited period of time since I was with a tour group so I went upstairs to the section covering the British & Portugese colonial period. There were excellent displays with a lot of... A nice place to have some rest in the a/c on ur way to the Lake Garden. Other than that nothing much to see and a puzzle to enter if you're coming from the other side of the main gate

Museum is great especially on providing detailed data (and photographs too) about Malaysia's recent history, colonization, independence, Singapore's break away and relations to neighboring countries. It also provides an interesting background on the cultural differences between the Malays as well as the various religions.

Earnest museum with small entrance charge. Split into four chambers recognising different eras from prehistoric through to present day. Not particularly big, with decent exhibits and the main details are explained too, but you do need to be keen to read through sometimes turgid, repetitive detail. Ok, but definitely not a 'must' for most.

I enjoy learning about the history and cultures of countries, so this museum really hit the spot for me. It is not so much artifacts and relics, more the progression of history, wars and colonialism finished off with more recent happenings. A great insight into the modern day Malaysia we can all see today.
