Last visited the museum also 14 years back. Nothing much to see except for the same old boring artifacts. People are being charged to enter the museum so something new and refreshing should be done in the museum. Thank God for the special exhibition of weaponry. At least, we were not disappointed to go there to see something different besides... More

This museum is really good and gives you a good perspective of Malaysia's history. Unfortunately we only had 40 minutes which is ok but not enough if you want to see things carefully. Entrance fee: 5RM

Was quite impress with the exhibition. Main hall of the museum consists of 4 parts representing different era's of the history. Sad to say, place was too small & the attractions... More

Spent an hour or so here, but not very memorable and for a national museum probably of a lower standard than I would expect. If you visiting other attractions in the area it is worth the visit, but don't go out of your way to go there.

The weapon exhibition is a joke. Not much of historic facts or evidence presented to substantiate the story presented The main exhibition glosses over the true history of Malaysia. Most of what's presented is propaganda which reflects the desperate desire of the ruling party to create a Malay identity when in truth draws its origin from Indonesian, Indian and Chinese... More

This museum has 4 eras - The prehistoric era, Ancient Kingdoms era, Colonial era and Current era. It was interesting to get a greater understanding of modern malaysia and there was a good mix of interesting information and artefacts. Worth a visit and only 5myr!

Well-organized exhibits present the history of Malaysia from prehistoric geology, to colonial era politics, up to the Merdeka independence movement, and beyond. The choice of visuals reveal much about its national self-image. Indeed, certain aspects of history seem to be either glossed over (the Emergency period, and the Communist insurgency), while others are disregarded altogether (the split with Singapore). Despite...
