For a national museum, its collection of relics is considered very little, numerous of them are actually replica as mentioned in explanation.

The Museum Negara is mostly a native craft store. It is one of the places the Tour buses stop at for you to shop at. The Museum was extra and not easy to find as was not included in our tour - pluse we were not given enough time to really give the Museum a good view. The crafts were... More

The museum is filled with the history of how KL became a muslin nation. I found this very interesting but my husband did not enjoy it so much. Worth the visit for a couple of hours.

I definitely came out with a better understanding of the unique cultural mix of this nation and where it has come from. I spent almost two hours in there and would recommend it to everyone,... More

This museum suffers from a problem not of its own making: Malaysia is not an ancient civilisation nor does it have great recent history to draw on. However, it does give an overview of prehistoric inhabitants, the advent of Malay culture, outside influences and so on. Without grand artifacts to show, there is somewhat of a tendancy to 'recreate' things,... More

Great way to learn about the Malay culture, history and heaps of other stuff. Museum is free to enter, very clean and tidy and items are well presented! Prepare to spend at least two hours here if you want to see most things. You can take photos/videos inside. Best off taking a car/taci here as it's not near public transport... More
