There was a special exhibition on military, weaponry and history. We had to pay for the second time for this special exhibition, I don't mind paying but the displays were not that much. Apart from the recon tank, Scorpion and the heli, Alouette, the paid displays inside the building were not that extra ordinary. I have seen rather interesting displays... More

This was one of the stops we made (from a cruise ship, docked on the west coast) on our tour of Kuala Lumpur. We were all very impressed at the quality and quantity of artefacts on display. Labelling was clear, and in good English.

Visited National Museum a part of guided tour. Having visited Museums in neighboring Singapore, India and the middle east, cannot compare to them. I felt it was a waste of money and time.

There are a few cool things here (e.g., Proton car engine and the building itself), but overall it is a great disappointment. Firstly, it should be renamed The Malacca Museum as it is mostly about Melaka (so why not actually go there to see the city and its own museums). Secondly, the level of scholarship and display accuracy is scandalous... More

It was a bit tricky to get here on foot from KL Sentral. You need to come out the main doors towards the Hilton and then go through their undercover carpark and do a chicken dash across a busy four lane road (no crossing) to get onto the road where it is! Entry was 5RM for foreigners and consisted of... More

There are 4 galleries on 2 floors comprising of pre history, malay kingdom, colonial days and current. there are also exhibits on the outside... More

How can a museum devoted to the history of Malaysia completely ignore the Japanese invasion and occupation (and the suffering of its people) of WWII? Overall a skimpy collection of artifacts for a national history museum.

I visited here recently and thought it was ok. The main museum itself is interesting enough and is well laid out, with 4 separate rooms taking you through the history of Malaysia up until present day. There is a second museum dedicated to the history of weapons throughout mankind in general which wasn't as good. It's worth a quick look... More

Very interesring museum. You get the whole history of the country and a big more in just one hour and a half. Perfect on the first day of the holidays as you get the bases for the rest of your stay. We did the visit with one of their guide, very knowledgeable and fun. These guys know so much about... More

Not the most interesting of museums, if you have plenty of time in the city may be worth an hour or so of your time but if time is limited I'd give it a miss. There were a few other couples with us and none of us were very impressed. Set in a nice building. You will have to pay... More
