What a fantastic experience - the whole family are amazingly hospitable, kind and generous, and we learnt some brilliant and useful recipes, which are subsequently sent on email for future use. At the end, we sat to enjoy our work with the whole family, a lovely way to finish the afternoon. Living in Singapore I am planning a weekend trip... More

What a lovely day I spent cooking in the kitchen with Jen and her family! Everyone had their special dish which they took turns sharing with me. Their home is warm and friendly and it was a really great experience for me. After we finished cooking we shared a meal together and spent some very pleasant time chatting together. They... More

We felt excited to learn and taste the delicious food. Jen was extremely generous in her sharing of cooking skills, recipe and experience. I start with a question; why are home cooked meals some of, if not best meals we have ever tasted? One reason, and one I personally believe is that the meal is prepared with love, care and consideration for those eating. This is more than obvious in the Palencia's cooking and hospitality, which is not only a meal but a... More

Me and my girlfreind are both 'cookaholics' with a fondness for Asian cuisine so during our recent stay in KL we naturally wanted to try out an authentic maylasian cooking course. We only found out about Jens cooking academy while we actually were in KL and not before we got there so we contacted Jen in the hope that we... More

I had such a fabulous time at Jen's Homegrown Cooking Academy. I'm from the United States and this was my first cooking class. I met Jen and her family at Jen's Underground Supper Club (also great) and from there got a chance to join the cooking class. We learned how to prepare nasi lemak, a traditional Malaysian dish. Jen, her... More

We spend an evening cooking with Jem and family. They were very hospitable and we learnt some amazing dishes. The nasi lemak and accompaniments were great. The best cooking experience we have had.

Jen's Homegrown Cooking Academy Review: Coming from Australia to KL you soon realize (after tasting the local cuisine) that there is a great deal to learn about the art of cooking. So when my brother and I were presented with the opportunity to learn a traditional Malaysian dish we were rather excited. The dish my brother and I were to... More
