Food has always been part of our communities. Having multiple ethnicities where you live gives you great chance to be a part of so many celebrations. And with all these celebrations there is always a meal. So you see, us Malaysians take our food very seriously.

Food Tour Malaysia Food in Petaling Jaya and Kuala Lumpur is unique. Some dishes here you will not be able to find in other parts of the country, and if you do, chances are that they probably could trace their roots to these 2 cities. Penang being the only other exception. The daily ritual of eating communally is one of the most endearing of Malaysian experiences. It is warm, and it's at the dinner table where you get to really understand and get the authentic 'feel', the heartbeat of the Malaysian community.

We did the food tour around Chinese New Year. It was no problem to bring two more friends along, I just asked Charles via whatsapp and he made it happen. The tour takes around 5h (evening off the eaten track) but we did most of the tour by minibus as it was raining every now and then. The food varied... More

Farah was our guide in KL on 11 January and what a fantastic job she did too. Four stops: Chinese, Malay, a small one for pancakes and then Indian. It was fascinating getting the opportunity to eat what and how the locals eat, and Farah knows her subject absolutely inside out. As we were on our honeymoon, she had even... More

My boyfriend and I did the KL walking food tour with guide Karlson and another couple from Australia. It was our first day in KL and provided a great introduction to the city and Malaysia. Being in such a small group and walking meant we could take our time, soak in the atmosphere of different neighbourhoods, take plenty of pics... More

You must go on this delicious tour especially if you are in Malaysia for the first time - you get to learn not only about their food, but also about their habits. (we stopped for malay, indian and chinese food and the wet market - I personally looooved the indian place). The night market is something that we probably wouldn't... More

Loved the places we checked-out. Tour was well worth our time. That mango lasi was the best I've ever had!

It made such a difference to go with a guide. Charles was awesome. We stopped at 5 different places and tried some great food. We enjoyed it so much we did another tour in Penang. Come hungry.

Had such a good evening with Farah and everyone on the evening of the food tour :) Farah was so friendly, and made a real effort to get to know everyone's name and where they were from. I was a no.2 on the scale of 'spicy' so Farah helped me avoid the really hot food. I enjoyed the malay food... More

We had a tour with Charles and it was our favorite activity in KL. We loved it so much, we also booked the same tour in Penang. The food we had in the tour was so different and authentic, but the best thing was getting further recommendations that we sought out for the rest of our stay. Beyond the food,... More

We joined the delightful Farah Tan for the "Off the Eaten Track" Food Tour. She was exceptional from the very detailed assistance provided for the meeting point, to the information provided about local food customs, to transporting us back to the hotel at the end of the evening. She made us feel comfortable and welcome at very local places that... More
