Description: Food has always been part of our communities. Having multiple ethnicities...
Food has always been part of our communities. Having multiple ethnicities where you live gives you great chance to be a part of so many celebrations. And with all these celebrations there is always a meal. So you see, us Malaysians take our food very seriously.Join Food Tour Malaysia Food in Petaling Jaya and Kuala Lumpur is unique. Some dishes here you will not be able to find in other parts of the country, and if you do, chances are that they probably could trace their roots to these 2 cities. Penang being the only other exception. The daily ritual of eating communally is one of the most endearing of Malaysian experiences. It is warm, and it's at the dinner table where you get to really understand and get the authentic 'feel', the heartbeat of the Malaysian community.

At 11am we met Charles our knowledgeable and friendly guide. We then headed for Little India where we enjoyed a great Indian meal and ice lemon tea. Then we had some lovely dessert snacks at a nearby hawkers stand. After that we had a lovely cool shaved ice with I think rice. We then had to sit out a downpour... More

Their website was really accurate-- as a traveler you want to try local foods but you're not sure what to order (or how) and you're not sure what places have good sanitation. So it's really useful to have a local guide to give you tastes of different things and tell you about them. This tour starts from a location on... More

We did the Off The Eaten Track food tour in KL with Charles in Feb 2015. We had actually booked a different tour, but it had to be cancelled at the last minute due to some of the stalls being closed for Chinese New Year. We were offered the more expensive tour at no extra charge and were very happy... More

We got picked up on time and where accompanied by your lovely host the entire evening. We got in her mini-bus and traveled to 4 or 5 different locations in KL. All the food was great and we enjoyed experiencing these new dishes for us. Our host was very caring - always checking if we had special needs or wishes... More

I booked Off the Eaten Track based on reviews from this site, and it was a winner!! My husband and I toured with another couple from Sweden, along with their little toddler (3 years old I think). The meeting point is right outside the Taman Paramount station.... very easy to take the MRT. We went to four different restaurants and... More

It was an awesome time with the most gorgeous group and all the different dishes we tried were just delicious. It was just more than an eating experience, we learnt a lot about the cultures! Thank you for everything, we had a lot of fun and recommend this trip to 100 percent. Rebecca and Lissa

Where to start, met Farah at the agreed location and straight to a Malay eating place where we tried lots of traditional food and was encouraged to join in. Next stop was to try Chinese pancakes, again excellent food and Farah continued to explain the food culture throughout the evening. As it was still Chinese New Year we were lucky... More

This is the 2nd time I did the food tour in KL and of course there's a reason why. First one didn't disappoint and the 2nd one as well (and i won't hesitate for a 3rd or 4th). Ms Farah, our tour guide, is very knowledgeable. We learned a lot not only about the food but the Malaysian culture as... More

I truly cannot say enough nice things about this tour. Myself and 3 friends are travelling through KL for two nights and booked this tour for the first night. From start to finish it was a phenomenal, once-in-a-lifetime experience. Our tour guide Anna was wonderful and took us to some delicious spots, graciously explaining everything as we went along. She... More
