Come and visit Lazat Malaysian Cooking School and bring back an authentic taste of Malaysia! Our hands-on cooking classes are held Monday to Saturday and presented in English by entertaining Malaysian instructors. We are located just outside Kuala Lumpur city centre and our school is furnished with purpose made demonstration tables and individual cooking stations. Each day of the week we teach a different ethnic menu and provide detailed explanations of ingredients and cooking methods. Students individually prepare their own 4-course lunch, usually consisting of an appetizer, main course, side dish and dessert. Malaysian cuisine is a unique fusion of Malay, Chinese, Indian and Baba-Nonya flavors, drawing upon our country's rich history as an historical crossroads for explorers and traders from around the globe. At LaZat our goal is to bring Malaysian cooking to the world by sharing with you our family recipes, which we have savored and perfected over generations.

This was our last day in K.L and I really wish it had been our first. Laty and Anna had heaps of information to tell us, Anna at the market and Laty during the cooking class. Everything was so well organised. Sam picked us up and dropped us off, I would recommend paying a little extra for this rather than... More

Our amazing time with LaZat started with Sam picking us up right on time for the drive to the market. He highlighted many sites along the way. Then our group met Anna at the market. I think Anna must be the mayor of the market because she seemed to know everyone--and everyone loved her. What a great experience--she taught us... More

This place is fabulous. Great venue, on the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur at the beginning of the jungle. The visit to the local markets before the class was very informative really enjoyable. The driver was impressive and from the moment we were picked up to the time he dropped us if he gave us a run down on the history... More

I can't say enough positives about this course. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable - they also speak English really well. They set up transportation for me and it arrived just as scheduled. The market tour was an amazing chance for me to ask questions about Asian cooking ingredients that I often had seen in recipes but didn't know what... More

The whole team at Lazat did an excellent job. Laty took us to the market to explain in great detail about the ingredients found in Malaysian cooking. Sue, the chef, gave very easy to follow instructions for making four classic Malaysian dishes in one session. Anna was very welcoming and passionate about sharing Malaysian cooking and making sure we enjoyed... More

Did the cookery course. I am a cook but I loved this and learned a lot. However mosquitos love me and I forgot my jungle spray so either wear trousers or spray up !! Well worth the money my only regret is not buying the brass wok - very hard to get in England

This was a phenominal class. The instructor was patient, funny, informative and really made the class. The setting was spectacular and the arrangements to pick us up and take us back worked out really well. I thoroughly enjoyed the market tour and learning about local foods and culture.
