An interesting small penguin enclosure. Take bus from across Nagasaski station (red color bus) and it will arrive in about 15 mins at 240 yen. Admission is 510 yen. There are about 200 penguins and you can see them up close. Be sure to reach there around 10 am as the feeding time starts 10.30 am. It is really fun... More

Very good with kids that love penguins, the bus ride from central Nagasaki was a bit long but pleasant. The place is indeed small, but the entrance was cheap as a consequence. We went on a weekday (no touching/feeding penguin experience, alas), with few visitors, and it had a magical quality à la Sprited away.

We stoipped in Nagasaki on our world cruise. Rather than going to the peace museum(we'd seen the one in Hiroshima) we decided to visit the aquarium. It was absolutely wonderful. We saw 7 species of penguins, 2 emperor penguin young(they were huge). For a small fee(1$) we were able to feed the penguins fish. All in all, it was a... More

As you'll read from other reviews it's about a 30 minute bus journey out to the aquarium and I suggest you get there by 10:00 am - feeding starts from around 10:30. Then penguins are let out onto the beach and have a nice swim in an enclosed part of the sea. The staff went out of there way to... More

. . . for the colorful red/orange freshwater crabs. If you park at the parking lot, you have to walk through this nature area to get to the aquarium by the coast. There is meandering pathway through a shallow bog area with little streams. There are many colorful red crabs with bright yellow claws inhabiting the area. You can find... More

We took the bus from Nagasaki station (the information desk next to the train portal will help you finding the right one) to the aquarium. The ride costs 410 yen one way and probably it would have been cheaper to get a day ticket. You pay in the bus with coins. The bus station for going back to Nagasaki is... More

A wonderful place for kids to observe penguins. You can see parade by King Penguins. Not so many people go there, so good for kids.

I took my three kids here, and they all seemed to enjoy it. They loved the "march of the penguins". I thought it was a bit small, and we had seen everything un under 90 mins. The thing we enjoyed most was being able to touch the pengins. I am glad we went, but most likely won't go back.

positive: you can see the penguin closely and clearly!! I study a lot from this aquarium too. It's not too crowded like the aquarium in Osaka. negative: too far! But the scenery to the aquarium is really worth it! Tips: If you go here early, you can see the penguin show. I forget the time, but perhaps it's around noon.... More

A fun aquarium that focuses much of its attention on the most adorably awesome animals ever - penguins. It's not a large aquarium and doesn't take long to see everything, but the penguin exhibits are top notch. While the penguins are its focus, there are other excellent aquarium tanks - with things like reef fish, jellyfish, sharks, giant crabs, giant... More
