This place is very lively and crowded at times. The shops all have interesting and funny statues on their signboard. Beware of the red light area during the night in this place as the host and hostess will try to take you to their shop. Lots of great food shops to eat here too!

Busy, fast-paced, lots of bargains and lovely neon lights make up this fantastic shopping area that really comes alive at night.

This place has a lot of great places to eat and definitely a great place to go see when in Osaka. Just be careful at night as there are tons of hosts and hostesses trying to grab at you and take you to their store. Otherwise great place for a buzzing vibe =)

Dotonbori is a must place to go if you want to feel the vibe of Osaka city. This street is located next to Dotonbori canal and as place to go for shopping and foods. Don't forget to take a picture in from of giant poster of Glico running man that seemed to be a very famous spot in Osaka to... More

Dotonbori has to be a foodie's dream haven! You get to sample all kinds of Japanese specialities in one place and see all the amazing signboards these Japanese have come up with! A very lively and vibrant place for night life and it keeps you coming back for more because you just want to eat EVERYTHING! The river is really... More

It's a street with a lot of lights and restaurants. If you're hungry or want a drink go here. If you are just a tourist trying to see Osaka it's nothing special.

It's like a must to go when you're in Osaka. For me, this place was not that interesting. I went there just to take a photo with Guligo boy and try the famous takoyaki. LOL It's about 10pm, and it's still crowded and lively. Since I'm not a shopping lover, I left the area just 20 mins after I arrived.... More

Go here! Seriously. I went to tenjimbashisuji before this and it was not worth it compared to this. So much to see and do and food to eat. Lots of great shopping also. Some upmarket places and lots of small shops with good sales too. Shinsaibashisuji is literally next door. You go over the bridge and it is on the... More

A lot was written about the Dotonbori in our guidebook and online, but I found it disappointing. There were a ton of touristy shops and restaurants, in addition to prostitutes (or shady massage women on the street) at night. It was crowded and people had thrown all sorts of garbage in the street. Save your time and keep walking here.

As a Muslim traveller, you would need to be careful, do ask on ingredients, some of the takoyaki have wine added in them.
