Quite touristy, but I do like the animated shopfronts and there are a few gems along all the tourist-oriented eateries. Do walk through the small lanes in between some peace away from the buzz and tourist traps on the main stretch.

When the day turns into the night Osaka shows up its craziest face. Its then when this district gets full of life, lights and tons of things to do! The Dotombori is the street that goes all alongside the "bori" which means canal and takes its name from the old local entrepreneur Yasui Dōton who made the expansion of the... More

Our bus tour stopped here for an hour for travellers to explore. Disappointing introduction to Osaka: a busy, tacky, noisy, grubby-looking area. Nothing to recommend it, couldn't understand why we even stopped here. Don't wander too far from the main drag, in case you end in the 'red light' back street. Only place in Japan where we were hassled by... More

Dotombori is a place full of life by day and mainly by night with lots of restaurants, bars and small shops. At walking distance is also the big shop avenue (with all the expensive brands). It is safe to go there by night.

Walking street with so much fun and full. Almost every shop that you would stop. I love the qyosa shop, so delicious and worth the money also Lord of stow-egg tart, so yummy. Also the big crab shop, worth the try, they are so fresh and tasted so good.

If you're visiting Osaka you have to visit Dotombori, it's a visual & culinary feast. Amazing choice of restaurants & street food, just walking along the strip is entertainment in itself. Take your time & take in all the sights & smells.

This place is full of restaurants, bars & shops. We tried the okonomiyaki, takoyaki, ramen place. Nothing much was impressive but the lines were long so we were curious & tried them. We didnt enter any shopping place. We only tried one sushi place there, very near the first portion of the area & sushi was terribly bad for japan... More

This is one of those tourists spots you have to experience. The place is over the top and worth the visit. Food is aplenty but it definitely caters to the oversea visitors.

We stayed just across Dotombori and the place has so much life the whole day! People meeting just to eat or have coffee. Lots of restaurants to choose from. A lot of shops if you are looking for hust about anything. But price a bit too high for me. Nevertheless, its a must see place when you're in Osaka.

Even if you're not a foodie, it's a must visit just so you can say you've been there. The atmosphere is as lively as the lights. Quite overrated at times but still worth a visit because a trip to Osaka isn't complete without one.
