You can find a giant rubber duck made by a Dutch artist, Florentijn Hofman. This giant rubber duck is spreading at some places around the world and one of it is at Nakanoshima. During the night, you can also see water fountain show which is held 4 times in an hour from 6 to 9 PM.

Nakanoshima, is where you can see the waterway system running from the north and south of the country. There are many bridges running across the waterway system. You can still see some old storehouses of feudal efdoms and monuments commemorating philosophers and other events, This is an area where has been through the vicissitudes of changing times and has a... I read about the 'Renaissance of Lights' promenade available on Dec 25 at this place near Umeda Sky Building. We reached there around 5pm and it was getting dark with many people already waiting around. The lights that featured cartoon characters along with music were really beautiful that cannot be described with words. Apparently, it started few days before Christmas... More

I went to the Osaka Hikari Renaissance on Nakanoshima Island without any expectations or prior knowledge to the event and it turned out surprisingly well. It was a lot of fun! I walked with a bunch of other people around the island looking at different illuminations (lights?). There's the Giant Rubber Duckie near the Dojima River Forum at the moment... More

This is a great place. It is one of the best places to see wayousecchu style architecture, that is old western-style Japanese buildings. Take a stroll through the rose gardens. Have a look at the free, that's right free, museum in the basement of the Chuuo Kaikan. A great way to spend the afternoon.

I've been here a few times since moving to Kobe. Previously, I'd only visited during Christmas when they've hung Christmas light decorations all around the park, but this last weekend I visited with my wife during summertime to sit down in the grass and enjoy a drink. Both relaxing times and recommended if you're visiting Osaka and you got sometime... More

Rode my bicycle down to Nakanoshima with a friend where they were holding some sort of festival. There was so much to see - performers, a giant monopoly board and a huge duck in the river. Bought some stall foods and sat down on the grass near the river. A really beautiful panorama, with the island being surrounded by tall... More

The rose garden is great when the flowers are in bloom during the spring, but the rest of the time, its pretty quiet.
