The shopping district centering on Namba is known as “Minami.” It’s a charming and lively area, where you can visit Dotombori, with its flashy Kanidouraku and Glico signs; Minamisemba and Horie, filled with unique shops and cafes; and Shinsaibashi, home to high-class brand shops and Amerika-mura (American Village), a front-running district in youth culture. There are also many theaters where... More

Namba has a lot of attractions for the urban traveler. Firstly, Namba is connected very well with the Osaka Subway. So, travelling to and forth to Namba is very easy. Shinsaibashi shopping area and Dotonbori are within walking distance. Namba is a full of life place thriving with people from all walks of life. It is a great experience to... More

We stayed in the middle of Namba next to the dotonbori running man! It's a really cool city with plenty happening at all times. Most of the people are tourists, our Japanese friend from Osaka commented she would NEVER go there. But still it's cool!

Namba is the place to go if you want to shop for almost anything. The underground walk is great for those raininy days because it connects with the train station so you never have to go outside. It is just one looooooong underground walkway full of shops and restaurants and cafes and more shops. If you are in Osaka and... More

Minami, Namba is the southern center of Osaka (the northern is Kita). The entire area is packed with restaurants (hundreds of them), street eateries, shops, bars, gaming clubs...you name it. At night it looks fantastic with hundreds of neon lights, people all around,.... Apart from that it is very clean and safe to walk around. You can find just anything... More

It's an all-in-one place...restaurants, bars, shopping, sight seeing, market, etc. It's the area for tourists to enjoy the best of Osaka. Never a dull moment, from sunrise to sunset.

This whole area at night is amazing! The lights, the smell of amazing food, the noises, the people. No matter what time it is, you'll find something to do here. We stayed in the area and ended up having really late dinners, places were still open at 2am!

I got here at night and was wowed from the start. The area is extremely atmospheric and colourful with a huge range of shops, eateries and wonderful sights and smells. It is home of the Glico Running Man sign and some of Osaka's best restaurants. Definitely make the trip in to see it at night. The neon signs are a... More
