Cool aquarium with great animals

I really liked the aquarium - it was set out of 4 (or so) levels and some of the tanks ran that depth so you got to see the different fish that live at the top, middle and bottom... read more

The aquarium is overrated to be honest, amazing infrastructure from the outside but not so impressive inside. I went on a weekday to avoid the crowd but unfortunately there was a school visit. The school visit has makes the aquarium really crowded and noisy at the same time. The tanks are basically repeated and nothing really impressive other than the... More

I really liked the aquarium - it was set out of 4 (or so) levels and some of the tanks ran that depth so you got to see the different fish that live at the top, middle and bottom. They have a huge central tank with heaps of fish including a whale shark which was incredible to see. Other animals... More

Having been to some other aquariums, I will say that Kaiyukan failed to rival the newer large aquarium. The first building house the largest tank in the middle and other big tanks around it, so u move in the spiral downwards, so the tanks are basically being repeated. There are some small tanks at some level at a corner. It... More

I don't know if this is still the biggest in the world but it sure is impressive. My biggest tip here would be to not to stop at the first few tanks. The aquarium route is laid out in such a way that the path spirals around the same big tanks and so, with the kids all stopping early on,... More

It was very noisy, families with screaming kids, queue was horrendous and everyone is pushing to go in. Can't enjoy and admire in peace. Kids were sprawling over the glass door or the wall, people blocking views. Was looking forward to this trip, but a tad disappointed...

We visited Osaka from 25th nov 2014 until 29th nov 2014. It was a free and easy trip. Much of the credits went to my 21 year old daughter who did all the homework before hand. Kaiyukan aquarium was in the itinerary. The trains were our main of transport and getting any where would not be a problem if you... More

The Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan is awesome. Worth all the hype and more! The variety of animals, including non-aquarium dwellers, is astounding. Totally worth adding to your Osaka itinerary.

One of the first things we noticed is that the fish and the animals looked really happy. They were all playing and have enough space to move in. It was such an amazing experience. They have so many fishes and even sloths and an isopod!! Would recommend it to anyone.

Compared with Kyoto.Osaka is more of a city. Most thing you can do is shopping & Eating. So Osaka Aquarium is a surprise. You can have alot fun there. Many cute things. And the position is right near the harbor. You can try The Wheel after that. You don't regret especially with a night view of Osaka.
