We enjoyed the aquarium. Impressive selection of animals and fishes. We love the mother dolphin and its baby swimming together and the playful seals.

The 9-storey aquarium is great for kids and adults to visit! It is located on the Bay area (Tempozan), and there is also a ferris wheel next to it! There are multiple feeding sessions, and also so you can see the animals in action... Animals found here range from otters, dolphins, penguins, and.... a big WHALE SHARK! It is great... More

I came here due to popular feedback and I was pretty impressed. This aquarium is quite big and uniquely designed. You kind of spiral down seeing more as you progress, sometimes of the same thing however. One of the main attractions was the whale sharks. I was a bit disappointed only seeing the one, and it was pretty small, but... More

It's a little too much like Finding Nemo for me! I wanted a break from temples and other sites so we agreed to go to the aquarium. I really really wanted to enjoy it but I forgot how depressing I find this sort of stuff. Some of the creatures looked like they were enjoying themselves then others looked bored stiff.... More

I grabbed the following write-up from japan-guide.com as it described the aquarium perfectly: "Osaka Aquarium, also known as Kaiyukan, is one of Japan's most spectacular aquariums. It introduces various forms of life inhabiting the Pacific Rim in a well organized and impressive way. Marine life is displayed in 15 tanks, each representing a specific region of the Pacific Rim. The... More

this is one of the best aquariums your likely to see. A MUST see when in Japan. It houses an amazing array of animals to view and also interact with.

The fish and other animals were very cool. English and Japanese were used interchangeably and filled up the experience by growing our interest in the large variety of marine animals. I recommend taking your time and learning about each family of animals. In a relaxed pace we wandered through stopping at most stations for pictures and info. This took about... More

Penguins were great. So many sea creatures, many of which I had never seen before. One of the highlights of visiting Osaka.

Though it costs 2300 yen for an adult, you must not miss the great Pacific tank in this aquarium. It spreads across 4 floors and you can have the view of the tank from different angles. Make sure to begin the tour in the aquarium starting from the top floor (which is the 8th floor). At night (from around 6... More

This aquarium is beautiful, but the main tank is far smaller than you are led to believe from the beginning. You will see a whale shark, hammerhead and many manta rays, if you can get up to the glass. It is very busy, but well worth a visit.
