It doesn't have the biggest acrylic tank, it doesn't have the rarest collection of fish or sea animals but it does have a great experience. It was the design, the intended experience, the story telling that made the aquarium special. The experience began from the water surface, we were brought up to the top level by elevator and we spiral... More

A worthwhile trip to take with the kids for a good 2-3 hours. A very nice aquarium with enough variety to keep the children's interest. Also, I like the lay-out of the aquarium; nice downhill stroll with ample seating along the way.

It was very well laid out because if you can't see some of the fish/Dolphins or whatever you keep going down and can see them under water. Buy the pass with the Ferris wheel.. 3000 together. If you have kids they will love this, they can also get a stamp book. You can go out exit 1 or 2 of... More

This is the best aquarium I've ever been to (although that's not hard, the only other one I've been to is aqwa in Western Australia). The seals and otters were the best part of the exhibition for me, along with the penguins, but the whale shark is the main attraction of the aquarium for most patrons. If you can stay... More

The path wound around The main tanks multiple times. The tanks were good, but it did get a little repetitive, the jellyfish were great to see so close.

It was very well designed. The visitors can circle from the top of the huge tanks down to the bottom, to see the various sea creatures closely at different levels of the tank. It was not easy to find. It was only 5 to 10 minutes walk from the Osaka Port station. But when we got off the subway, there... More

The sea animals are displayed in a different perspective and visitors can get to see them "perform" in their living habitat without having to attend pre-designated shows. The Whale-Shark is a show stopper. It is the main reason why I went to the Osaka Aquarium.

On our first day in Osaka after arriving the night before we decided to go to Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan as the weather was raining and the temperature dropped due to the storm in Hokkaido. It was such a great pleasure walking around the big aquarium which can accommodate various kinds of sharks including the hammer head and also whale shark... More

The aquarium is easily accessible using the subway (stop at Osakako station, exit 2). The aquarium is child friendly and the route starts from the top (via an escalator) and works its way down going thru all the exhibits. The exhibits cover several types of habitat and fauna ranging from the Great Barrier Reef (coral reefs), the Amazon (fresh water...... More

Amazing set up that allows one to view at leisure the many species. The audio guide helped to provide salient details of the nunerous specimens. The interactive displays proved to be engaging and infornative. The displays varied and active. Great trip for the young and old.
