The Umeda Sky Building, best known for its Floating Garden Observatory is part of the Shin Umeda City which comprise other buildings including The Westin Osaka. The Umeda Sky Building, comprising two 40-storey towers connected by the Floating Garden Observatory, is located about a ten-fifteen minutes walk from the nearest JR / subway station. If you have the time, do... More

We enjoyed the sunset and night view but we had to walk passing a long underground walkway to get there. Nevertheless the visit to Umeda Floating Garden with high speed observatory lifts & fast moving glass elevator to the building's top floor was magnificent.

Umeda City had lots of thing to do. Big shopping centre plenty of restaurant Train and subway station underneath. Then there is big tall buildiing that stand out and on the top there is a floating garden attraction. It just so beautiful up there. It is not a garden expecting all greenie but no. It is round and had 360... More

I spent a week in Osaka and this was one of the sights I will remember. I'm not great with heights but somehow, in Japan, you never get the feeling you're going to fall off the top - even though you are at the top, with wonderful views of the city. The escalator is the longest I've ever been on,... More

If you are passing by you w may want to try one of the restaurants located on the ground floors, in particular a Okonomiyaki-ya (restaurant) with a "charismatically rude" owner that makes a very good one. My J-wife suggested it at the time, it's was good and fun. Itadakimasu :-)

Yes the roof of the City does offer you a magnificent view of Osaka as it should be the tallest building in Umeda. It's also a good idea to go there at dusk as you can enjoy the sunset and night view. However, it can be very crowded and the romance that it intends to portray can be easily ruined.... More

Shin Umeda City, this important landmark of the city, in the heart of the city, a short walk from the JR train and bus station Umeda, here it is placed also the Umeda Floating Garden majestic building which you can see obviously buying the ticket; in my opinion the best scenic spots in the city. Around here in this particular... More

It's amazing how you can make a place more romantic then Paris' Eiffle Tower itself. It's a must be place in Osaka. And be sure to go there after sun sets. On the roof it's quiet, warm and you feel like there are no limits (still it's one of the safest place with open roof I've ever been to). Romantic... More
