Beautiful night illumination!

Hidden temple with tasteful lights illuminating the bamboo forest and autumn leaves. Found the entrance fee of 800 ¥ per person slightly expensive though.

It's a little hard to find but we had a good time there. Not crowded. The gardens are beautiful and you can sit on the tatami mats and view the gardens.

Great visit to beautiful house with pretty small garden. Beautiful paintings that were lit up and great views from the house and from the garden. Well worth a visit as not crowded at all

We visited this temple during evening hours after dark. There are nights they close at 9pm. It is not always open at night so find out its schedule before going. With that said, the temple grounds and the meditation areas are expansive, detailed & indicatively traditional. Every inch of these very large grounds with endless paths for us to Journey... More

The majority of what is on offer consists of four structures tied together through covered walkways. The interiors are nice, if not a tad mundane, but there are some interesting murals. There is actually only one garden that is of any note. It is the one that will come up in any image search of the temple. It is a... More

what a wonderful secluded garden at the end of the bamboo trail at Arashimaya. take the time to explore this place - go inside, pay the admission, and roam the garden paths. Be sure to claim your free cup of matcha hot green tea at the exit before you leave.

Was able to walk through the grounds without any fee (fee for the rock garden only). This is an active temple and pretty nice to see if walking by, but would not go out of my way to visit.

We had spent most of the day fighting hordes of people, so it was great relief to enter this quiet, lovely temple. It was well worth the price of admission, both for the temple buildings and the beautiful gardens. There were wonderful artifacts on display in the temple buildings, and beautiful wall paintings. Everything seemed understated in contrast to some... More
