Calm and zen like

Such a serene spot.. Just sit and meditate for a few minutes and enjoy the zen gardens around the temple. Nice and quiet compared to the temple before this site.

You're so close if you visit chion-ji so make the effort and visit this beautiful garden and temple. Notice the magnificent camphor trees lining the entrance.

My favorite temple and garden in Kyoto. Maybe i just like the fact that it's much smaller and quieter than the other main ones.

Big temple but the main hall is now on works. Looks more like a palace and has very quiet gardens, but the interiors are not very interesting (what is open now).

This small quiet temple is a peaceful haven in a town where many of the sites are bustling with tour groups and other tourists. Many small rooms overlook a lovely garden, and you can walk through the rooms to see some lovely painted panels and other little treasures. Not a long stop, but worth it!

This was a small temple but the ambiance was excellent. No big fuss about anything and really time for some contemplation. It was quite nice to take a walk in the garden.

The temple itself isn't big and nothing spectacular. However, the garden is something. Eventhough the weather was quite hot, I didn't feel that hot in the garden. If you're planning to go to there on summer, watch out for the mosquitoes!

Nicec landscaping. Great walk. Greenery with water and soothing to the eyes. Worth a visit once. Evenings are nice.
