My girlfriend and I visited Kyoto early November and I were looking into a break activity from the many beautiful temples, palaces and shrines that Kyoto has to offer. For folks interested in history and culture this is certainly a wonderful experience. The show lasts for one hour and takes turns between actual performances and explanations on the performances as... More

We did the light lesson plus demonstration and thoroughly enjoyed it. The performances were very traditional and I was surprised how much I enjoyed the use of fans as much as the sword play. The lesson was so much fun. We were dressed in traditional samurai outfits and taken through some basic moves by our instructor. Worth every penny

I feel that the Samurai tradition is quintessentially Japanese, and did not want to miss out on having a taste of this ancient art. For a very affordable price of 3,000 yen, we received a full hour of performances with varying back stories and props. There was an intensity and beauty to the performances that transported me to a different... More

We did this tour to learn more about the samurai and to do something different than just look at temples and shrines all day. We opted for the full package and it was well worth the money. The first hour they three samurai put on a good show, then the last hour they taught you a few basic moves with... More

Do not go unless you can be absolutely still and silent for an hour! The show viewing room is very small. Everyone in the audience as well as the performers will notice movement or noise. The woman who speaks a lot during the show is very hard to hear and understand, as she is very soft-spoken. This activity is not... More

We went just for the demonstration which was about 3000 yen I think. We didn't do the lesson after but the demonstration included some playing with the swords and a photo shoot. Good value for money.

We chose combination type C, and I think type A would have been better (full lesson). Highly recommended.
