Go early as this is a popular site. Small but worth seeing with a nice walk through the gardens, More

It is worth going by, but if you see the golden temple first, you will probably be disappointed. It really is just a plain temple, but the area around is beautiful for pictures. The gardens/surrounding area is quite large and you can hike around for about 25 minutes maybe. More

Silver? Really? But its white...I guess it looks kind of silverish at sunset but the building itself was rather boring compared to the golden pavilion. That said, the zen gardens here are beautiful and it certainly makes up for the lack of wow. One can easily get lost in a fantasy world of faeries and little creatures when one wanders... More

I really liked trails and gardens around the Temple of the Silver Pavilion. It is not as splendidly dashing building as the Golden Pavilion is, but it holds very well by its own. I was wondering how the zen garden was put together, because it looked so solid that it almost looked like it was somehow clued together. More

Out of all the temples and shines in Kyoto I would recommend the Silver Pavilion the most! Despite not actually having the silver coating (like the Golden Pavilion) it is (in my opinion) still equally as stunning. The grounds and garden wonder off into the hills and there is an impressive raked garden. It is also located at the start... More

I will regret going there if this is not under Unesco. Beautiful stone landscape, garden and scenery especially you are on top of the hill, but the main tower look unimpressive - rather run down. Please be prepare to walk as there is a big plot of landscape on the hill side. More

You'll love the location of this temple the minute you step off from your bus... Nice neighbourhood, with shops along the way, selling traditional food and souvenirs.. You couldn't help but try to have one..the snack ...or just taking picture of Japanese pickles... The temple is beautiful, surrounded by a peaceful yet very beautiful garden, with a bid sand pyramid.... More
