We took this bike tour to stretch our legs and get a sense of the city. The bikes were comfortable and our guide a nice affable enough fellow. But over all there was a whole lot of biking and not a lot of guiding. So don't expect to learn much about the city. Still a fun way to get some... More

My dad and I had a wonderful tour with Salome, a Georgian student who was studying in Kyoto, as our guide. She was very knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and sincerely interested in sharing the best of Japanese culture and history with us. We had a small group of only 4 people, making it easy to customize the tour as we went. Some... More

We had a Romanian student, Iulian, as our guide. He has been living in Kyoto for over a year studying Japanese. He is very knowledgeable and had answers to any question that we any of the group had. We had an intimate group of 4 which was great! Would definitely recommend the tour.

We only had three hours for a tour in Kyoto, and Pepijn helped us make the most of it. We visited the Fushimi Inari Shrine, the Kodaiji Temple, and then walked through Gion. It was an action-packed adventure, and we had a terrific time. Pepijn was great company, and managed to give us a taste of Kyoto and get us... More

I was lucky to have Lulian as my guide while on the cultural tour in Kyoto. He is from Romania and studying Japanese in Kyoto. His knowledge of Japanese culture and history is extensive and he was very informative on many aspects of the city and the temples and shrines. I had a great afternoon walking around the city with... Our guide was Salome. She was excellent, very well informed and answered our questions patiently. The tour itself was interesting; we went to Tofukuji temple, Fushimi inari shrine and the gion district. We were a small group - 8 people which was great!!! We recommend it to anyone who would like to learn about Kyoto!

7 Apr 15 - The tour had about ten people and all the bikes were ready for us on arrival - all the same size, so for anyone over 6' tall, the nil was never going to be great! Seat heights were adjusted and we were off - no explanation of where we were going, what to be aware of... More

We had originally booked the cycling tour one week in advance but, sad to say, it was fully booked for the day that we had planned for. Thus we switched to a half day afternoon walking tour. We found the tour to Tofukuji Temple, Fushimi Inari Shrine and the Gion area very informative. The Tofukuji Temple is not as crowded... More

The bike tour was fun, we got to see a mixture of Kyoto including a temple and the beautiful philosophers path. I highly recommend. Our guide was knowledgable and adapted well to the pace of our group. This bike tour was a great way to mix up the travel after spending most days walking or on a train.

My guide Salome from the country of Georgia was excellent. She was passionate, very well informed and a wonderful communicator. Salome was also very attentive and cared about Japanese culture which clearly showed in her enthusiasm of communicating the different sites that we visited. Alexandra HK
