It's hard to say enough good things about Elsa, our guide for the afternoon. In addition to being knowledgeable and informative, she was also very friendly and approachable, and seemed genuinely concerned about making sure everyone had a good time. Right from the start of the tour, she learned everyone's name and created a feeling of community among the group.... More

The Kyoto City of Culture tour was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan. It's so much more rewarding to see a place and hear interesting stories and trivia about it rather than just looking at it. Our guide, Elsa, was very knowledgeable and friendly, and the rest of the group was just wonderful. I absolutely recommend the... More

This walking tour is a great way to see the more hidden side of Kyoto. Once you've done the biggies like Kinkaku-ji, Ginkaku-ji, etc., and had to jostle with loads of tourists, this serene but still intrepid adventure is quite refreshing. Our guide Elsa was half-Japanese and half-French, so she has the perspective of both a native and a visitor,... More

I had a private tour with Healy as nobody else had booked. Saw a lovely shrine, a temple, the Philosopher's Path, the Imperial Palace grounds and squeezed in Kyoto University as a nice bonus. The riding course was very pleasant, including riding next to the river for a while. Healy was informative with falling into the information overload trap and... More

Elsa is the best. Very easy to communicate with by email and helped us plan a time and decide which tour - she responded quickly and answered all our questions. We did the half day walking tour with her and 2 other people. Saw 2 zen gardens, the inari gates and gion (saw 3 geishas!) she gave great explanations and... More

Our tour guide was Elsa and she was fantastic. We ended up having a private tour as nobody else was booked into the tour and we thoroughly ourselves! The temples and shrines we saw was beautiful and we even had a green tea and tofu incream which was so yummy. The gion tour was great and Elsa answered all our... More

My wife and I booked the Kyoto cultural tour somewhat on a whim. I'm glad we did. We met Elsa outside the Kyoto Central Post Office at around 1.40pm (20 minutes earlier) than the tour started and started on our way on the tour. The first stop was the Tofukuji Temple with its contemporary Zen garden. It was stunning and... More

Going on this tour all depends on what you're looking to experience. On the brighter side, you get to see a lot of Kyoto on bike, it beats walking for a day. Definitely good exercise if you're that type. The route is scenic by the canal and down Philosophers Path, especially if you go when Cherry Blossom Trees are in... More

I'm just back from my marvelous trip in Japan and I think got a great flavor of the Kyoto city thanks to the guide Ray who guided the tour in an excellent, fun and informative way. He recommended as well where to taste great Japanese food at the end of the trip. Had the best hot pot in the world!... More
