I was lucky to have Lulian as my guide while on the cultural tour in Kyoto. He is from Romania and studying Japanese in Kyoto. His knowledge of Japanese culture and history is extensive and he was very informative on many aspects of the city and the temples and shrines. I had a great afternoon walking around the city with... Our guide was Salome. She was excellent, very well informed and answered our questions patiently. The tour itself was interesting; we went to Tofukuji temple, Fushimi inari shrine and the gion district. We were a small group - 8 people which was great!!! We recommend it to anyone who would like to learn about Kyoto!

7 Apr 15 - The tour had about ten people and all the bikes were ready for us on arrival - all the same size, so for anyone over 6' tall, the nil was never going to be great! Seat heights were adjusted and we were off - no explanation of where we were going, what to be aware of... More

We had originally booked the cycling tour one week in advance but, sad to say, it was fully booked for the day that we had planned for. Thus we switched to a half day afternoon walking tour. We found the tour to Tofukuji Temple, Fushimi Inari Shrine and the Gion area very informative. The Tofukuji Temple is not as crowded... More

The bike tour was fun, we got to see a mixture of Kyoto including a temple and the beautiful philosophers path. I highly recommend. Our guide was knowledgable and adapted well to the pace of our group. This bike tour was a great way to mix up the travel after spending most days walking or on a train.

My guide Salome from the country of Georgia was excellent. She was passionate, very well informed and a wonderful communicator. Salome was also very attentive and cared about Japanese culture which clearly showed in her enthusiasm of communicating the different sites that we visited. Alexandra HK

I was lucky enough to book the afternoon 'city of culture tour' back in November. Jade was a great tour guide showing us the amazing sights of Fushini Iniari and nearby gardens, then the gion district. Funnily enough they are also from Melbourne, Australia and so were around 5 other tour guests - which made for a great expat tour... More

How lucky were we having booked the tour to find we were the only 2 people - it was like having a private tour. Jade was excellent, an Aussie girl who is smitten with Japan. The tour was great and I would thoroughly recommend it. Visiting some of the major temples and shrines while also seeing the some of the... More

I would definitely recommend this tour as you get to visit some great temples and shrines in Kyoto and learn about them in great detail as you go (which is a lot better than just looking at them). Our tour guide Akemi was very nice, informative and spoke fantastic English so I was able to get a good understanding of... More

I took this tour while I was in Kyoto for the first time and the tour guide Jade is great. She is knowledgable about culture and Kyoto, and Japan in general. She said she also guides the long tour for trip all over Japan. If there's a choice, I recommend walking rather than taking bus or train. Jade will weave... More
