I've done many cooking classes but this was the most personal. We spent three hours in the home of teacher Emi with a small class size of three. We did a number of small dishes including sushi, grilled fish, prawn salad and more based on seasonal foods. Emi is a really friendly, outgoing cook and I felt at home in... More

We recently visited Kyoto, and Emi's cooking class was the highlight! We had such a great time, learnt a lot, and the food was fantastic. Emi is such a great host and teacher. Would definitely recommend this cooking class to anyone who's visiting Kyoto. Thanks to Emi for a fantastic evening :) More

yself and three friends just recently attended Emi's Uzuki cooking class in Kyoto. We arrived in Kyoto in the morning from tokyo and after checking into the hotel went directly to meet emi for the class. It was the best first attraction in kyoto we could have done. all four of us were hungry by the time the class started.... More

Kyoto is the highlight of Japan, and Emi’s class is the highlight of Kyoto! We learned from her how delicious can be Japanese homemade cooking, and how easy it to cook it. We spent a wonderful afternoon and evening with her. Dalit & Erez Israel More

Emi is a lovely lady who was one of the most polite people I have ever met. She met us at a bus stop out the front of a uni in Kyoto and took us around the corner to her house. Don't be put off by the directions to her house - it's EASY!! Jump on the #5 bus at... More

Emi was happy to cater for us as vegetarians and we made five delicious dishes in the three hour lesson. It was really helpful to learn more about Japanese cuisine and traditional ingredients, which will help us in the rest of our stay in Japan. Great value considering the cost of the high quality meal in Japan. Emi is a... More

Emi's classes are a great way to understand one aspect of Kyoto's culture intimately. Emi welcomes you into her home kitchen, and then guides you through a three hour mad dash through traditional Japanese cooking techniques. I had to work hard to record the details to try to repeat the recipes again one day. After three hours, we were treated... More

Looked this up from a guide and it didn't disappoint. It was good value for money. Emi met us on time and we had a short walk to her house, Course went from about 3.45 until 6pm. Cooked a range of dishes with fresh ingredients: rice with snow peas, through to mushroom coated in freshly chopped prawn and then deep... More

This was a great, laid-back cooking class/demonstration; Emi was great at teaching and the food was delicious. I've even started trying to grow some of the herbs we used in my garden at home so that we can try cooking the dishes again! More

This class is held at Emi house - she will collect you from the University just around the corner from her home, which is easy to get to by bus. It is interesting to be in a real Japanese home. You help Emi to do the preparation of a meal. For us it included sushi, salad, spring rolls, and a... More
