I went to the herb gardens from a friend's request. I was hesitant at first because of all of the walking, but once we got there we were totally wrapped up in the natural beauty and the calming effects of all of the wonderfully smelling herbs planted on the grounds. The Honey Milk Soft Serve Ice Cream was the cherry... More

This was definitely a highlight of my road/rail trip across Japan and a must in Kobe. There is not enough room to convince you that this place is magical, serene and breathtaking at the same time. The best advice is to get the Ropeway up the hill to the Herb Gardens, and save your energy to walk down through the... More

It is a wonderful place to escape from everyday work rush. It is very clean. If you are in Kobe, next to the tower area, it is worth going there for a morning walk.

The cable car entrance is behind the ANA Crowne Plaza hotel. There are three cable stations. You have the option of purchasing a round trip ticket or one way. We purchased the round trip but ended up walking down from the top station to the middle station. When you go up in the cable car, your door will open at... More

Having not been overly taken by other attractions Kobe had to offer we decided to try a visit to the Herb Garden as it was a nice clear day, perfect for good views of the city. The ropewire can be purchased as a single or round trip ticket and is reasonable value. There are 2 stops on the rope way... More

I definitely recommend this place to all visitors. Apart from getting a wonderful walk around the place, you can take part in making handicraft with the flowers / herbs. The smell of the flowers and herbs can take you far away from the hustle and bustle of the city...

The ropeway (cable car to us British) is in two stages. The best way is to go straight to the top then walk halfway down to the gardens, explore then take the cable car the rest of the way down. You can walk the whole way but it is pretty steep! At the top is a cafe, and when I... More

Good place to stroll around to see flowers bloom and smell herbs aroma. Recommended to go to top station with rope way, then walking to mid station and go to bottom station by rope way again. But if you're fit you can go walking to bottom station with a chance to see nunobiki falls and dam.

So i'm not into flowers and herbs etc, so very good rating is based on the cable car, views and pleasant walk down the hill that is associated with the trip. If you are into herbs etc then its for you, if you want nice views then go, if you want to escape the "chaos" of Kobe then its perfect.... More
