Took the ropeway (cable car) up the top station abt 10mins. Then stroll down thru the herbs garden n see pretty flowers. There's free herbal foot bath too along the way down. Great bonding time w kids to enjoy the nature! Note: below 15yrs old is abt half adult price.

We stayed in Namba Osaka, thus decided to buy a Rokko/Arima 1 day pass (¥2460). The easiest way from Namba is to take Hanshin Railway to Kobe Mikage station (御影) , and follow via bus #16 to the cable car station. The strange thing is although the day pass covers from Namba to Mt Rokko area, its not available from... More

From Sannomiya station, head east on Hankyu line to Rokko station. Ask for directions to board Bus No. 16 which will head up to Rokko Cable station. At this station, board the Cable Car train up to Mt. Rokko (round-trip at ¥1000). The Cable Car train ride is a touristy experience in itself. Both direction of views (going up and... More

This place was a bit boring actually, the only good thing was the amazing view over Kobe. There are many small things to do, but I feel like most of it was for kids or for hiking enthusiasts.

A bad day to drive up during Silver week , but worth it at the end just for the view over the harbour. The Rose walk, going up and down in the ski-lift was worth the effort, fascinating to see so many family groups sitting around the pond attempting to catch carp with bamboo poles. The new rose walk is... More

If anyone would like to see a panoramic view of Kobe City, this is the best place anyone can ever recommended. Both roadway and public transport access are available to reach there. If you prefer public transport, take Hankyu like from Sannomiya to Ashiyagawa and then take no 16 bus to the Cable Car station. Last cable car leave mount... More

Its a pleasant trip up via the gondola/ropeway... you can walk from Shin Kobe easily or about 20 minutes from Sannomiya through Kitano... the views are nice and the herb garden is great... its not spectacular but well worth the effort...

Took just under 2 hours to climb. Started at cable car - can easily via train from sannomyia and then bus (I think it was #16) for about 15 min longer. Quite hot and humid in summer-bring plenty of water. Signage is in Japanese, but trails aren't too complicated....basically keep left. At the top we walked to/through golf course trail... More

This is a great place on a clear day. You get sweeping views of the city. For 1350 yen, it pays for the cable car up to Mt. Rokko and the bus that takes you around Mt. Rokko. You can also just pay for the cable car fee one way at 540 yen, and pay for each time you get... More
