I took the Cablecar up to the top of the mountains and then hiked down. The panorama is rewarding, and visible as soon as you exit the cablecar. The hike itself was a solid workout. It is a steep descent, but the path is well-maintained with lots of log steps and is signposted in Japanese. This is a beatiful location.

Nice drive up winding mountain roads and brilliant view of the Kansai region. Popular restaurant, but probably the least good food/value for money I have had in Japan, so eat elsewhere. On a cloudy/hazy day, it's clearly not worth the trip up there

On a clear day a person can see to…can see for miles and mile. A long winding climb up a steep grade finds one above the city with a grand harbor view.

The weather wasnt good when I first reached Mt Rokko. It was a blanket of fog due to the storm passing by. However, it gets better in the afternoon and the view was clearer. The music box museum might sound boring at first but they offer mini concert of music box performance every half an hour. When I was there,... More

An interesting ropeway, nice gardens, concert hall, and eateries on top and down the mountain. The views of the city are wonderful, so It is a proper place fopr beginning your trip around Kobe.

This is the highlight of our trip where we get to enjoy panoramic views of Kobe, Osaka and the port in between, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It feels great to breathe in fresh mountain air and visit the various tourist attractions and souvenir shops at the mountain away from the crowds. We later had a... More

Spent a Sunday up Mt. Rokko - took the #16 bus for the Hanshin line to the Rokko Cable Car (which is essentially the entire route, 20 mins) and then the Cable Car up (which is actually a funicular railway, not a suspended cable car) for about 10 mins. The top part is much more geared towards driving around to... More

Mt Rokko has a beautiful views of Kobe and the port... or so I'm told. It was very hazy on the day of my visit, and the city was barely discernible. But it's not the mountain's fault, I suppose. It was still a grand day out. The funicular ride was great, impressively long and steep. The observatory at the top... More
