Sapporo is consider quite cooling as its in the north. But if you are feeling hot, grab a beer and find a seat at the ordori park and people watch and enjoy the rest of the day. Its just a park with a TV tower infront of it and walkable distance to the other attractions. Its a nice park for... More

I visited Odori Park in February for the Sapporo Snow Festival. The festival is not to be missed. Great food, snowboarding demonstrations, ice sculptures and lots and lots of people! There are a number or bars within waling distance also.

We happened to be in Sapporo during the summer beer festival in Odori Park.....what a great time. And the best thing is, this is not a touristy thing to do.....all the tents were full of Japanese people in groups of tipsy friends, all having a good time. The people-watching and beer-drinking were excellent!!

Many boisterous beer drinkers at night. Partying in the garden with large glasses of beer in hand. If you forget the rowdy drinkers, you can enjoy the nice night walk along the park. There's nothing much there. Just a park with the TV Tower at the end of it. Perhaps somewhat romantic. In a way. Ive been there before in... More

Odori park (or Odori Koen) is a beautiful park in the centre of Sapporo. It is a very pleasant stroll along the park, with many benches and green spaces to sit and relax. The Yosakoi Soran Masturi was on while we were there so we got to see all the different dancing groups in their various colourful outfits and absolutely... More

We visited the park at a great timing and enjoyed the beer gradens. Some nice facilities for children to play.

After a sightseeing or shopping excursions, I'd highly recommend to take a stroll along the Odori park if you have time. Not only the garden and flowers are lovely, but here you see a lot of locals with families and friends. When I was there, there were beer gardens along the park, which were crowded even when it was raining!... More

I went during the Snow Festival to view the snow sculptures. It's impressive but I feel the giant sculptures were over-commercialised. They have been put up by corporate sponsors. It's a very long park and it will take at least 3 hours of walking to view all the displays. For those who don't know the Hokkaido winter well, it will... More

Summer is pretty hot and muggy but not to worry – Odori Park has many places to get cold beer – besides the regular beer garden under the tower, there have lots of beer festivals held there. There was a jazz festival held but a lot of the sessions were sold out. The park has very nice flowery gardens and... More
