Odori park was the place to held Sapporo winter festival, the park was big, unfortunately if you go not in Winter festival, the place seem dull and not interesting.
This park hosts the snow festival in early February. You can see some skiiers performing tricks, go ice skating and look at the numerous ice sculptures around the park. It makes a great day's entertainment.

We tried Cross country skiing, some slides, great food and watched some pleasant light shows. A little shopping. Watched ice skating and ski jumping all during the annual snow festival.
