Beautiful campus surrounded by trees. Interesting history. It is a good walk just to go thru the campus.

The Hokkaido University Sapporo Campus is located directly behind the Best Western Hotel; if this is one of your destinations while visiting on this island!

Walked around here for 1-2 hours. Buildings lack character but grounds are nice. A bike ride wouldn't. be a bad idea at all given the size of the campus

The lines of trees in the center was blooming so beautifully! The water pound in the center with all the birds was funny to watch. We also eat in the campus restaurant, good food!! After dinner we was taken to the museum of the school, a lot to see! I was there in may 2009!

This campus is so well-maintained, impressive and beautiful that at certain stretches we feel like strolling in a garden, not a campus. The architecture of buildings hosting different faculties gives each an unique identity. Watching students cycling and shuttling in the campus make one feels youthful. We also visited a sundry shop in the campus and grab some drip-coffee packs.

I loved the trees that lined up the road. They especially look nice in autumn. There's just a certain vibrancy and youthfulness to university campuses especially those with a lot of greenery that makes me want to be a college student again. There are couple of historic landmarks/ buildings which are worth checking out and it won't hurt to visit... More

I only remember now the above phrase but not the person who said this... I was surprised to get to know he used to teach students in Sapporo. Since I planned short trip to Sapporo, I did not allocate full day for visiting Sapporo. So I could visit the university to meet his statue at night time. It rained quite... More

Hokkaido University has a great flora scenery particularly in Autumn... I went there again in Winter and it's full of snow. However, don't miss the Elm Tree shop where you could buy its famous cookies and sausages.

I can't speak of what Hokkaido University's campus looks like most of the year since I visited in the height of winter. However, in winter time it is absolutely gorgeous. Snow is everywhere and the creeks/ponds throughout the massive campus are usually frozen over and create a serene winter wonderland type feeling. The campus itself is very well built and... More
