I joined a day tour that was recommended at the Tourist Information Centre, and I really enjoyed the trip. I loved the ski lift as it went very high up the mountain and and the view from the Observatory was amazing.

Went up via the ski lifts... Really amazing and everything was covered in snow. We could see the view of the city from the top. Had delicious Yubari soft ice cream too.

We discovered that the Mt. Okura jump lift was closed already when we arrived at the stadium in the evening. However, it was possible to hike up Mt. Okura in a short hike through deep snow all the way up to the jumping platform. The entire area was very well lit until approx. 9:00 p.m. and classic music contributed greatly... More

I took the subway and bus to go there. From the bus stop to the entrance of Mt. Okura is quite a good walk up the hill. To go up Mt. Okura Observatory you need to pay a chair lift for 500 yen. You can see the view of Sapporo from the Observatory and it is amazing, If you go... More

Minus 1.8 on arrival, but dropped rapidly within the hour about 10am. Views of Sapporo excellent, but great to see a ski jump up close. Ate lunch in the 'Lamb Restaurant' - good price compared to central Sapporo dinning. Walked up from JR bus stop - unfamiliar with walking on ice, but didn't fall and got extra value from the... More

It was a cold -2 degrees when we went up but we forgot about it when we got to the top and saw the night views of Sapporo! It is definitely breath taking! It is a obviously a spot for couples who want to go to the top to ring the bell and also add a padlock to the railings... More

Well worth the 500 yen to go on the chair lift. It's quite dramatic to climb the hill and the view of the city from the top is spectacular. A rare chance to view up close the ski jump structure.

Took the subway/bus to get here. Not too difficult though beware that some busses don't accept the day pass- a trap I fell into. Not overly busy when I visited. Poked around the landing stage for a bit. Didn't visit the museum. Took the chair lift up and there are two levels to see plus a small café with outdoor... More

Heavy snow falling, on the chair lift to the top of the observatory, this is where the ski flyers do their thing I am glad I am on the chair and coming down the same way. The Olympic museum is interesting would love to be here to see the jumpers 'flying'. Views from the top are excellent. even through the... More
