you will have a nice view of the sapporo city at the top. we went up using the open ski lift but i think those who have time and strength can hike up to the top. witnessed some senior citizens hike up in groups. the lamb restaurant is really good. price is reasonable, quality and service are very good. must... We visited this place during the afternoon and the temperature was quite cooling, around 12 degree celsius. The view of the ski jump up close was really cool and I never expected it to be so steep. We also took the ski lift up and got a breathtaking view of the Sapporo city from the top. Overall a nice place... More

This is a unique opportunity to see a ski jump up close as I had never seen one other than on TV. The lift ride to the top gives you a close up view of the jump and landing areas which are surprisingly steep. The view at the top is very good but probably would be better at night. It... More

This is billed by the Japanese as the second best view in Japan, the first being Kiyomizu-dera (清水寺) in Kyoto. It certainly is a stunning panorama, and if like we did you make your own way there and show your guide book, it's less than 500 Yen to take a ski lift to the top. This location was the spot... More

I joined a day tour that was recommended at the Tourist Information Centre, and I really enjoyed the trip. I loved the ski lift as it went very high up the mountain and and the view from the Observatory was amazing.

Went up via the ski lifts... Really amazing and everything was covered in snow. We could see the view of the city from the top. Had delicious Yubari soft ice cream too.

We discovered that the Mt. Okura jump lift was closed already when we arrived at the stadium in the evening. However, it was possible to hike up Mt. Okura in a short hike through deep snow all the way up to the jumping platform. The entire area was very well lit until approx. 9:00 p.m. and classic music contributed greatly... More

I took the subway and bus to go there. From the bus stop to the entrance of Mt. Okura is quite a good walk up the hill. To go up Mt. Okura Observatory you need to pay a chair lift for 500 yen. You can see the view of Sapporo from the Observatory and it is amazing, If you go... More

Minus 1.8 on arrival, but dropped rapidly within the hour about 10am. Views of Sapporo excellent, but great to see a ski jump up close. Ate lunch in the 'Lamb Restaurant' - good price compared to central Sapporo dinning. Walked up from JR bus stop - unfamiliar with walking on ice, but didn't fall and got extra value from the... More
